  • Patent number: 10594436
Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide an information processing method and a coding apparatus. An information bit sequence includes a K-bit information block. The information bit sequence is to be processed into an encoded bit sequence with a target code length M, M>1024. For a given code rate R, when the length K of the information block is greater than a preset threshold, the information bit sequence is segmented into two or more segments. Each segment is polar encoded into an encoded subsequence. The encoded subsequence has a length that equals to a mother code length Ni, and i=1, 2, . . . , p. Each of the p encoded subsequences is rate matched to obtain a rate-matched encoded subsequence. A rate-matched encoded subsequence i of the p rate-matched encoded subsequences has a code length Mi. The p rate-matched encoded subsequences are concatenated into an encoded bit sequence which has a code length M.

  • Patent number: 10498442
Abstract: Systems and methods for improved content streaming and downloading. The system enables content to be transmitted to wireless base stations (WBSs) using unicast on the core network side of a cellular network to avoid incompatibilities associated with network broadcast technologies such as Evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Services (eMBMS) and Long-Term Evolution Broadcast (LTE-B). At the same time, the system enable content to be broadcast, or transmitted to multiple user equipment (UE) in a single transmission to reduce wireless bandwidth consumption. The system can include a commodity server to receive requests from WBSs, place them in a chronological list based on network latency, and then transmit content to each WBS in a synchronized unicast manner. Each WBS can then transmit the content to a plurality of UEs with minimal buffer required due to the “pre-synchronization.

  • Patent number: 10484828
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for enhancing indoor navigation using light-based communication (LCom). In some cases, an LCom-enabled luminaire configured as described herein may acquire user data from a local computing device and relay it to a server that tracks and analyzes the data to assess statistics for the luminaire's local spatial environment. The disclosed luminaire may receive from a local computing device a request for indoor navigation to a target of interest, such as a remote computing device. The luminaire may relay that request to a downstream luminaire, which delivers the request to the target. The target may respond with data that allows for tracking of its location and indoor navigation thereto, regardless of whether that target is moving or stationary. In a network of such luminaires, data distribution via inter-luminaire communication may be provided, for example, via an optical interface or other wired or wireless communication.
