  • Patent number: 9104235
Abstract: An approach is provided to control information display at an augmented reality device. In the approach, a biometric value is received from a biometric input device. The biometric input device is a device that receives biometric data from a user of the augmented reality device. The received biometric value is compared to a number of previously established biometric input ranges that correspond to the user. Each of the biometric input ranges corresponds to a different display policy. The comparison identifies a selected display policy. The display detail of the augmented reality device is then automatically set according to the selected display policy.

  • Patent number: 9081424
Abstract: A method of compensating an error of an input device and an apparatus thereof. An electromagnetic induction pen including a coil for electromagnetic induction spaced apart from a nib of the pen is prepared. A sensor board is provided in the apparatus in which a voltage or current for electromagnetic induction of the electromagnetic induction pen output. A disposition state of the sensor board is determined. The voltage or the current is adjusted and provided to the sensor board formed according to a sensed rotation state of the sensor board or terminal in order to compensate for an error generated due to a distance between the nib and the coil. An error is compensated for by allowing coordinates according to the electromagnetic induction formed on the sensor board and varied with the rotation disposition state of the sensor board to correspond to a position of the nib.

  • Patent number: 9077345
Abstract: A capacitive sensing apparatus is described that incorporates a light guide having a light scattering means for illumination of the apparatus. The apparatus has a capacitive sensor mounted on a substrate that provides a capacitive sensing area for generating an electric field that emanates from the apparatus. A light source is arranged in optical communication with the light scattering means via the light guide. This arrangement acts to mitigate the effects of interference between the capacitive sensor and the light source. When an opaque substrate is employed an air gap is located between the substrate and the light guide so as to provide a substantially uniform illumination across the light guide. Appropriate selection of the refractive indices of the light guide, ng, and a transparent substrate, ns, provides the same desired uniform illumination in alternative embodiments. The capacitive sensing apparatus finds particular application within a touch sensitive display.

  • Patent number: 9064471
Abstract: A display device for a vehicle includes a liquid crystal panel, a light source, and a controller. The liquid crystal panel includes a particular display pixel and a normal display pixel. The controller controls the ratio of the gradation value of the normal display pixel to a set gradation value of the normal display pixel as a gradation ratio of the normal display pixel. At the same time, it controls the ratio of the gradation value of the particular display pixel to a set gradation value of the particular display pixel as a gradation ratio of the particular display pixel. Further, the controller sets first and second modes as a control mode, the first mode in which the light source emits light, and the second mode in which the light source emits light with brightness lower than in the first mode. In the first mode, the controller sets the gradation ratio of the normal display pixel and the gradation ratio of the particular display pixel at a particular time to a maximum ratio.

  • Patent number: 9064464
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are provided to reduce or eliminate mura artifacts on electronic displays. For example, pixels may be programmed to a uniform gray level before all or a substantial number of gates of the pixels are activated. The voltages on some or all source lines that supply the pixels may be measured. A mura artifact may be seen when voltage differences on the source lines are present. As such, operational parameters of the electronic display may be adjusted to reduce or eliminate the mura artifact by reducing the voltage differences.

  • Patent number: 9046929
Abstract: A system for inputting operation system (OS) commands to a data processing device. The system comprises a video camera that captures images of a viewing space. A processor detects a predetermined object in the images using an object recognition algorithm not involving background information in an image. One or more image analysis parameters of the object are extracted from the images and one or more motion detection tests are applied. Each motion detection test has an associated OS command, and when a test succeeds, the OS command associated with the test is executed. By not relying on background information in an image, the system of the invention may be used in devices that are moved in use, such as a palm plot, personal digital assistant (PDA), a mobile telephone, a digital camera, and a mobile game machine.
