  • Patent number: 7670216
Abstract: An automatically operated opening access closure and venting mechanism includes a vent with one or more baffles inserted in and opening. The baffles are coupled to an actuator mechanism which operates the baffles as the door moves from a closed to an open position or conversely, from an open to a closed position. When the door is in a closed position, the baffles are closed to maintain the integrity of the door. As the door begins to open, the baffle opens thus equalizing the pressure on both sides of the door allowing the door to be easily pushed open and to close with minimal force.

  • Patent number: 7628686
Abstract: A modular floor terminal basket with a damper is mounted in the floor of an occupied space for delivering air from an under floor air plenum to the occupied space above. The modular floor terminal basket with a damper includes a generally cylindrical basket with air inlet openings on the basket side and an air outlet at the top of the basket. A damper is positioned in the basket for movement from a lower opened position to an upper closed position. The position of the damper is controlled by an actuator which in turn is controlled by a thermostat/controller in the occupied space above the floor. The damper is slideably mounted on a damper guide extending from the bottom of the basket toward the air outlet at the top of the basket. The actuator rotates a threaded shaft that engages a threaded collar attached to the damper so that the damper slides up and down along the damper guide.

  • Patent number: 7625276
Abstract: An axial flow fan shroud fixes and supports the axial flow fan and a driving motor while surrounding the axial flow fan. The shroud includes a housing having a ventilation hole at the center of the housing and surrounding the axial flow fan; a motor fixing part at the center of the ventilation hole; and air guide vanes or duct between the housing and the motor fixing part for deflecting a part of air blown by the axial flow fan parts needing cooling. The shroud prevents overheating of parts sensitive to heat due to heat of an engine by guiding air blown by the axial flow fan to an area where the parts are installed while avoiding the heated engine. Therefore, low-price products having inferior thermal property can be used so manufacturing costs can be reduced and the degree of freedom in design can be improved.

  • Patent number: 7607974
Abstract: Membrane roofs are susceptible to damage in high winds. Wind can lift a membrane roof from a building and cause it to tear or become damaged. The present roof vent prevents liftoff and damage by reducing the air pressure under the membrane during high winds. The present roof vent has two opposed convex domes separated by a gap. Wind blowing across the roof flows between the domes where it accelerates and creates a region of low pressure according to the Venturi effect. The lower dome has an opening at the gap so that the low pressure is applied to the space under the membrane roof. Therefore, when wind blows across the roof, the vent draws air from under the membrane and the membrane is pressed against the roof, preventing liftoff.
