Abstract: A recess is formed by excavating ground, and a base support formed by a synthetic resin molded foam is laid in the recess or resin foam concrete is placed in the recess to provide a base support formed by the resin foam concrete in the recess. A plurality of vibration absorbers is mounted on the base support in such a manner as to be parallel to and spaced from each other at specific intervals. The vibration absorber is formed by a plate-like synthetic resin molded foam having a large number of through-holes which pass through the molded foam in the thickness direction or a plate-like synthetic resin molded foam having a large number of gaps between particles. Concrete is placed on the base support on which the vibration absorbers have been mounted, to form a base. The three components, that is, the base support, vibration absorbers, and base are integrated to each other to constitute a base structure of a building.

Abstract: A fastener can be inserted into a narrow space behind a wall, and can be brought into contact with the back of the wall over a wide area to sufficiently reinforce the wall even when a bolt is tightened to securely fasten an object to the wall. The fastener has a block assembly including a plurality of blocks having two longitudinal ends and coupled together at the longitudinal ends in a single line. One of the blocks is formed with a threaded hole into which a bolt is adapted to be threaded and string holes. At least one string member is passed through the string holes. The block assembly has an arrangement for preventing each block from pivoting in a first direction from a straight position, in which the block assembly is arranged in a straight line, and allowing each block to pivot in a second direction opposite to the first direction from the straight position.
Abstract: A silo (1), in particular a vertical one, designed to store products in powder form, and having a vibrating bottom (3), suitable for favoring flow, and for equipping a fixing damper body (2) of a silo (1) by means of a joining element (9) and a fixing damper (10), provided to ensure a tight connection between the body of the silo and the vibrating bottom, while, at the same time, preventing a transmission of vibrations from one to the other.
According to the invention, the joining element (9) takes the form of an elastically deformable, peripheral, self-supporting joint, interposed directly and freely between the body (2) of the silo (1) and the vibrating bottom (3), cooperating with the fixing damper (10) to perform both a sealing function and a damping function, without discontinuity over its entire bearing periphery.

Abstract: For use in securing a concrete form board, the form pin of the invention includes a clip having first portion substantially in the shape of a cylinder to be forced onto one end of a steel bar driven into sand, shale or clay and of an inside diameter substantially equal to the diameter of the bar, along with a tab portion having a plurality of spaced apertures extending through opposing planar surfaces to receive nails or screws to be removably secured to the concrete form board, and with the tab portion extending outwardly of the cylindrical portion a distance to allow manual grasping thereof in freeing the steel bar from the ground. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the steel bar consists of a rebar having a plurality of rims circumscribing its outer surface, in cooperating with the cylindrical portion of the clip in limiting spinning, or otherwise movement of the clip once forced upon the rebar for use, especially when the clip is constructed of a deformable plastic.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a four piece molded acrylic kit and method for trimming an interior window. Each piece is oversized in order to be cut down and fitted onto the existing window jamb. The pieces overlap and create a water barrier once the kit is sealed. Each piece is dimensioned, arranged, and interconnected to cover the window jamb and the wall surface that circumscribes the window opening. The pieces are attached to the window jamb by butyl tape and finished with silicone and a sealant finisher.
Abstract: A muntin connector includes male and female connecting members each having a length, a thickness, and a width greater than the thickness. The connecting members are configured to be assembled together in a direction transverse to the length and width directions so that the connecting members cannot be disassembled by pulling apart in the length direction.
Abstract: A window frame for installation onto a structure having exterior siding, the window frame helping to prevent moisture from penetrating into the interior of the structure. The window frame has a frame member onto which is installed a window pane and a C-tunnel, the C-tunnel having a first flange, a second flange that extends outwardly from the first flange in non-perpendicular fashion, and a third flange extending outwardly from the second flange in non-perpendicular fashion. A fourth flange extends along a length of the second flange and acts as a rain stop. Diagonal as well as vertical channels may be located on the second flange.
Abstract: A rib assembly for multiple-fold umbrella includes: an aluminum top rib pivotally secured to an upper notch formed on a top portion of a central shaft, an aluminum stretcher rib pivotally connected between the top rib and a lower runner slidably held on the central shaft, a plastic intermediate rib interconnected between the top rib and an aluminum or plastic outer rib, an aluminum connecting rib pivotally connected between the stretcher rib and the intermediate rib, and a spring rib slidably coupled to the intermediate rib by a ring member fastened on the intermediate rib; with the plastic intermediate rib interconnected among those light ribs for strengthening the rib assembly substantially made of light-weight materials.
Abstract: Animals can be prevented from digging in an area by positioning a plastic mesh barrier on the surface of the earth where it is desired to prevent the digging. The mesh can be anchored so that it will remain reliably positioned and will become nearly invisible as vegetation grows through the openings of the mesh.
