  • Patent number: 11852338
Abstract: An array of tile assemblies is fixedly connected to a common waterwall panel to form a refractory liner for an incinerator. Each tile assembly includes a unitary, clip-type, metallic anchor, which is directly welded to the waterwall panel, and a solid refractory tile slidably connected to the anchor through a dovetail locking mechanism. The rear surface of the refractory tile includes a longitudinal rib from which projects a dovetail pin configured to receive the anchor. The longitudinal rib increases the overall thickness of the refractory tile through the region of interconnection with the anchor. In this manner, the anchor is suitably protected by the refractory tile from intense heat which may otherwise cause mechanical failure in the locking mechanism. Additionally, the solid construction of refractory tile both limits the presence of air gaps within the tile assembly and reduces the likelihood of tile fragmentation or cracking.

  • Patent number: 11852346
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of a system and method for bimodal air control in a kettle-style grill are configured to be detachably mounted to the exterior of a kettle-styled grill such as, but not limited to, a Weber® charcoal grill. When mounted to the kettle-styled grill, a plenum-like component directs air flows to the interior of the grill's kettle via the kettle's lower body damper holes. A manually adjustable intake damper in the plenum component allows, restricts, or prevents a drawn ambient air flow into the plenum component. Separately, a forced air flow generated by a fan may also be provided into the plenum component. Adjustment of the intake damper may also adjust damper blades inside the grill's kettle. Ash that falls out of the kettle's damper holes falls through the plenum component and is captured in an ash receptacle that is removably mounted to the plenum component.

  • Patent number: 11828474
Abstract: A combination boiler provides heated water to a boiler loop and heated domestic hot water (DHW) to a DHW loop. A primary heat exchanger is connected to the boiler loop. A burner provides heat to the primary heat exchanger and an input fan supplies a fuel and air mixture to the burner. A secondary heat exchanger transfers heat energy from the boiler loop to a domestic water loop. A controller determines a boiler loop flow rate. The controller measures an input temperature of the boiler loop, an output temperature of the boiler loop, and a DHW output temperature of the domestic water loop. The controller determines a DHW input temperature and estimates a DHW flow rate. The input fan speed is initiated or operated according to a required heat output of the burner corresponding to the DHW flow rate.
