  • Patent number: 5155401
Abstract: A recorder motor with an encoder, for forming an image on a record medium in accordance with image information, has the encoder on the outside of the motor case and a plastic dust-proof cover for the encoder mounted on the case. Thus, contamination by dust or ink mist is prevented, and stable and high precision motor rotation is maintained.

  • Patent number: 5130591
Abstract: A shaded pole motor includes a squirrel-cage rotor and a stator assembly. The stator assembly having a bore for rotatably receiving the rotor and pole separation parts on an inner circumference of the bore so that adjacent separated portions are excited alternately to an N-pole and an S-pole when a winding is energized. The inner circumference of the bore is divided into plural sections represented by 2(2n+1). The magnetically divided two pole portions have pole sections having an alternating N-pole and S-pole, and non-pole sections, when a winding of the stator is energized.

  • Patent number: 5019739
Abstract: An engine starter includes a motor having a tubular armature rotation shaft, and a rotation output shaft arranged on one axial end side of the motor coaxially therewith to be axially slidably supported. A clutch mechanism is included for transmitting torque from the armature rotation shaft to a rotation output shaft and an electromagnetic switch which has a shifting member to push the aforementioned rotation output shaft by an electromagnetic force in the axial direction to slidably move it. The switch also brings movable contacts in touch with fixed contacts to supply power to the aforementioned motor. A rear part of the rotation output shaft and the front part of the shifting member are inserted into the armature rotation shaft tube from opposite directions. The shifting member of the electromagnetic switch, the armature rotation shaft and the rotation output shaft are all coaxially arranged to reduce the length of the starter.

  • Patent number: 4994953
Abstract: A DC power supply (10) in accordance with the invention includes a plurality of DC to DC converters (20), each converter converting a multiple phase AC potential to a DC output potential (24) containing an undesired AC component; a circuit (30) for combining the DC output potential of each converter into a combined DC output potential (16) and arithmetically cancelling the undesired AC component; and a controller (22) for producing a time reference (A, B, . . . N) applied to each of the converters to set an angular relationship of each of the phases of each converter with respect to the applied time reference, the time reference of each of the converters being spaced apart from a time reference of another of the converters by an angle .theta. wherein ##EQU1## wherein n is equal to 2.sup.x where x is an integer and n is the number of converters.
