  • Patent number: 7366989
Abstract: A network element management system which can exploit the customized interface features of a variety of versions of a variety of complex system products from a variety of manufacturers. This is done by maintaining a meta-model, which is not itself a model until instantiated, of the possible known product configurations to be interfaced to. Once the meta-model is instantiated, it provides configuration parameters which the interface program uses to build a correct configuration for the management and/or monitoring interface. This is particularly advantageous in the preferred embodiment of a telecommunications network element management system, but also has potential applicability to other large “supersystem” applications.

  • Patent number: 7346855
Abstract: Generally described, a method is provided for use in a computer system that allows users to navigate quickly through multiple applications. In accordance with the method, when the computer receives a signal from the user, it extracts a preview representing a screen shot for each window open within the operating system. It then displays the preview, a description, and an icon for the next window in the activation hierarchy and a description and an icon for the remaining open windows. In other embodiments, the previews for all open windows with corresponding descriptions and icons are displayed utilizing several different arrangements. The computer then receives a designation from the user of the next window he or she wants to make active and brings to the foreground the top level window corresponding to the selection.

  • Patent number: 7343557
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for interacting with a user entering information for a computer application. In one general aspect, the invention provides for displaying a pane as a user interface for a user to enter information in a sequence of steps. The pane includes an information entry area, an interactive first step symbol capable of initiating a first step in the sequence, and a first indicator placed after the first step symbol. The first indicator indicates that a selection of a step to follow the first step depends on information received in the first step. A second step is selected to follow the first step using information received in the first step, and the first indicator is removed. An interactive second step symbol capable of initiating the second step is placed after the first step symbol.

The data that meet a significance criterion, traffic criterion, or both can form (iii) graphable addresses and relationships. The method can further comprise (iv) generating statistics about the graphable addresses and relationships. The method can still further comprise (v) generating a graph based on the statistics about the graphable addresses and relationships, and (vi) changing any or all of the traffic flow, significance criterion, and statistics being computed, and regenerating the graph.

  • Patent number: 7237197
Abstract: A method and system for providing video data to a user on a computer is provided. According to the method and system, a video streaming device attached to the computer provides a video stream that is displayed on the computer. Images that were previously captured with the video streaming device, either from the current video stream or from previous video streams, are displayed to the user along with the current video stream. This gives the user the impression that the device has captured image storage when, in fact, the previously captured images are actually stored elsewhere, such as on the computer's hard disk. The stored images are accessible by the computer, and placed in virtual folders while being displayed. A user interface shows the current video stream in a video display area and the previously captured images in a captured image display area. The user interface may be invoked when the user double clicks on an icon that represents the video streaming device.

  • Patent number: 7185287
Abstract: System and method for deploying a graphical program to a device in a wireless manner. A graphical program (GP) is created that implements a measurement function. Some or all of the GP is transmitted to a measurement device via wireless means in accordance with a wireless communication protocol. The measurement device executes the transmitted portion of the GP to perform the measurement function, thereby generating resultant data, which is received from the measurement device via wireless means. The GP may include a block diagram that executes on the measurement device, and a user interface portion that is displayed by a first computer system. Alternatively, the GP is transmitted to a hub over a network, and the hub deploys some or all of the graphical program to the device via wireless means. The measurement device executes the GP and sends the resultant data back to the hub or computer system wirelessly.

  • Patent number: 5010300
Abstract: RF and gradient pulse combinations (30, 32, 36, 38) are applied to limit or define a region of interest in two dimensions (42) by pre-saturating surrounding regions (34a, 34b, 40a, 40b). A 90.degree. RF pulse (50) is applied in the presence of a slice select gradient (60) to excite selected dipoles in a slice or slab, defining the region of interest or voxel in the third dimension. Phase encoding gradients (62) and (64) are applied to encode spatial position in two dimensions of the slice. A binomial refocusing pulse (52) suppresses the water and refocuses the metabolite resonance into an echo which is acquired (68) by a receiver (26). A Fourier transform means (72, 74) transforms the received magnetic resonance signals to create a two dimensional array (76) or matrix of spectra (78) corresponding to a two dimensional array of spatial positions within the slice.
