  • Patent number: 11755797
Abstract: A system, and corresponding method, is described for using a model to predict the physical behavior of IP from an HDL representation of the IP. The system generated data for training and testing the model by treating the logical parameters and physical parameters subset as one for the IP block. The system digitizes the non-numerical parameters and compresses timing arcs. The system uses the trained model to characteristic behavior for an IP block directly from the combined vector of logical parameter values and physical parameter values.

  • Patent number: 11734489
Abstract: A system, method, and computer readable medium with instructions for verifying an original layout are disclosed. The original layout includes cells arranged in a cell hierarchy, front-end-of-line (FEOL) layers, and back-end-of-line (BEOL) layers. In one embodiment, a reduced layout is generated by trimming out cells below a top tier of the cell hierarchy and filtering out the FEOL layers. A text-based short check is executed on the reduced layout. Next, an augmented reduced layout is generated. The augmented reduced layout includes pin information for cells in a second tier connected to the top tier. An interconnectivity check is then executed on the augmented reduced layout based on a schematic for the circuit. Afterwards, a result (e.g., location of short or connectivity mismatch) based on at least one of the text-based short check and the interconnectivity check is outputted. A conventional LVS check may then be executed.

  • Patent number: 11714942
Abstract: A method to store the shapes of an electrical circuit design in a hierarchical set of arrays that inverts the layout size order by area includes defining a plurality of storage levels. Each level corresponds to a two-dimensional projection of the three-dimensional volume of the circuit layout. Accordingly, each level subsumes the entire physical space of the circuit layout. Each level may include a respective grid of slots. The slots may be rectangular. Each slot within any single level may be the same size and dimensions as every other slot in this level. Shapes are added to this storage technique based upon size, not based upon physical layer. Each slot can contain shapes from any physical layer as long as that shape fits entirely within the slot.
