Abstract: A method and system for delivering notifications to electronic devices is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by an electronic device, one or more settings, the settings including an instruction to search for available notification services. The method further includes searching, in response to the instruction, for available notification services, and subscribing to at least one notification service discovered as a result of the search. The method further includes displaying, by the electronic device, notification messages received from the at least one notification service.

Abstract: A method for receiving and processing a covert transmission within a TCP/IP protocol stack is described. An IP protocol layer receives a datagram comprising covert data. The datagram is adapted to appear as an error at a TCP layer. The datagram is intercepted at an IP layer routine below the TCP layer. The intercepted datagram is processed by an extension of an IP layer routine.

Abstract: Example methods are provided for network management entity to perform group-based network event notification in a network environment that includes the network management entity and a notification consumer. The method may comprise: in response to detection of a first network event associated with a group, withholding notification of the first network event to the notification consumer; and in response to detection of a second network event associated with the group, withholding notification of the second network event to the notification consumer. The method may further comprise generating a group notification associated with the group, wherein the group notification is an aggregate notification to report the detection of at least the first network event and second network event; and sending the group notification to the notification consumer.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer readable-storage medium establishing a communication path between a mobile device and a non-mobile device. The method includes controlling display of a webpage for display on the non-mobile device, receiving data input via the webpage, the data including a mobile number associated with the mobile device, transmitting a message using the mobile number received from the non-mobile device, the message including a hyperlink that includes a uniform resource locator (URL), in response to performing a function at the mobile device, receiving a response associated with the function performed, coordinating communication between the mobile device and the non-mobile device to transmit the response through a communication path to the non-mobile device, and controlling display of the response received from the mobile device in the webpage of the non-mobile device.

Abstract: A method to communicate a message, the method comprises storing geolocation information pertaining to a user device, the geolocation information identifying a geographic location. A message input request is received at a user device. The stored geolocation information is accessed. Based on the geolocation information, the user device is selectively enabled to generate message content associated with a point of interest, the selective enabling includes presenting a review annotation to the user on a user interface of the user device, the review annotation being modifiable by the user in order to generate the message content to include a modified review annotation.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods for supplementing the processing capabilities of multimedia devices in a networked environment. A method can include providing a processing offloader module to physically connect to a first multimedia device in the networked environment. The offloader can be internal and/or external to the device. The method can include identifying the offloader, identifying a second multimedia device, and determining that a bandwidth of the second device falls below a threshold bandwidth. Instructions can be forwarded from the second device to the offloader when the bandwidth of the second device exceeds the threshold bandwidth. The offloader is configured to process the instructions and render multimedia information based on the instructions.

Abstract: Methods and devices for causing a communications session between a first device and a second device to end based on lack of speech activity are described herein. In some embodiments, a communications between a first device and a second device may be initiated by the first device, where a first user account associated with the first device is authorized to initiate communications session with the second device by a second user account. After the communications session is started, audio data is received by a speech activity detection system, which determines whether the audio data represents speech or non-speech. If, after the communications session begins, non-speech is detected by the first device for more than a predefined amount of time, then the communications session is caused to end so that the first device is not capable of receiving video and/or audio associated with the second device.

The method includes creating a service requirement set based on a service request. The method further includes determining enhancements and adjustments to be done in the service requirement set based on a plurality of user entitlements corresponding to the user associated with the service request. The method further includes generating an updated service requirement set based on the enhancements and adjustments applied on the service requirement set. The method further includes determining a network slice template hierarchy based on the updated service requirement set. The method further includes determining a resource requirement corresponding to each of the plurality of network sub-nets based on the updated service requirement set, the plurality of user entitlements, and dynamic network context.

Abstract: A system is described for downloading server-based content to peers in a P2P network. The server-based content can be partitioned and different peers can be given priority for downloading the different parts. A client on each peer can view what content is available on each of the other peers as well as what content is available on a virtual peer, which represents content on the server and only makes content that exists on the server and not on any peers available for download. Consequently, a client on a peer requesting to download the content can download the content from the peers and the virtual peer based on a file sharing protocol, such as BitTorrent.

Abstract: A messaging system, in one embodiment, can establish messaging accounts for a plurality of organizations (e.g., businesses) to allow customers or users of the organizations to conduct two-way messaging sessions between a customer and an organization. The messaging system can use a registration portal to allow an organization to set up a business/organization messaging account by providing account information. The account information can then be used to update one or more searchable databases that allow a customer to have multiple entry points into a messaging session with each of the registered businesses in the messaging system. For example, a search through a web browser or a map application can provide search results that contain or otherwise provide access to a selectable messaging option that is presented on a customer's device.

Abstract: A method is provided for conditional implementation of a service on an object connected to a local area network. The implementation of the service is associated on the object with at least one location datum. The method includes the following acts performed on the object: receiving a request to implement the service from a first terminal, the request including at least the identifier of the service and the identifier of the terminal; receiving a message including at least one location datum of the first terminal; comparing the location datum of the first terminal with the location datum associated with the implementation of the service; and, as a function of the results of the comparison, implementing the service on the object.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a non-transitory machine-readable medium that stores a program. The program receives from an application a set of data objects for transmission to a computing system. The set of data objects have a type. The program further identifies a data handler definition from a plurality of data handler definitions based on the type of the set of data objects. Each data handler definition in the plurality of data handler definitions specifies a type of data object and a communication protocol. The program also transmits the set of data objects to the computing system using the communication protocol specified in the identified data handler definition.

Abstract: A method for managing multimedia services includes transmitting a first request by a first device to a communication network for reserving a sub-channel of a communication channel for a multimedia service. The first device transmits the first request when the multimedia service is initiated at a second device. The first device communicates with the first communication network by way of the communication channel. The first device receives data associated with the multimedia service from the second device. The first device receives a first acknowledgement from the first communication network. The first acknowledgement indicates a reservation of the sub-channel for the multimedia service. The first device maps the multimedia service to the sub-channel based on the first acknowledgement. The first device transmits the data over the sub-channel, thereby managing a quality of service for the multimedia service.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to generate reference signatures from streaming media through the collection of metadata, generation of audio signatures, and association of the metadata with the generated audio signatures. The disclosure consists of a media monitor that collects metadata and generates audio signatures at a household and a central processing facility that generates reference signatures therefrom.

Abstract: System and techniques for gateway assisted diagnostics and repair are described herein. A request for assistance may be received from a client device at a gateway device attached to a local area network (LAN) and a wide area network (WAN). The request for assistance may include an indication of an event experienced by the client device. The request for assistance may be forwarded to a management controller of the gateway device. Instructions may be transmitted to the client device via the LAN for resolving the event experienced by the client device.

Abstract: An alarm information processing method, apparatus, system, and computer storage medium are provided. The method includes receiving alarm information generated by a first node at a first time. It is determined whether the alarm information is a root alarm, and in response to a determination that the alarm information is a root alarm, a plurality of first links comprising the first node are obtained, to generate a first link set. The plurality of first links of the first link set are searched for one or more nodes located before the first node, and alarm information is generated within a first time range before the first time and a second time range after the first time, to obtain a second node. Alarm root source analysis is performed on the second node, and an analysis result is notified.

The method comprises receiving, by the email server, a request from the browser application to create an email account for at least one of sending and receiving an electronic message over the communication network, the request comprising at least the unique browser ID, acquiring, a browsing history data associated with the unique browser ID, the browsing history data being indicative of the browser application's browsing history with the at least one web resource; analyzing the browsing history data to determine a user score of the request, the user score being indicative of a likelihood that the user is one of a human or a bot executed by a computer application; and upon determining that the user score is indicative of a higher likelihood that the user is the bot, performing a restrictive action to the request.
