  • Patent number: 9496973
Abstract: Embodiments of user equipment (UE) and method for handover enhancement using reference signal received quality (RSRQ) in a wireless network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a UE adaptively selects handover initiation parameters based, at least in part, on a velocity of the UE. The UE may determine an RSRQ of a serving cell and an RSRQ of a target cell and may transmit a measurement report to a serving eNB for handover from the serving cell to the target cell when the target cell RSRQ exceeds the serving cell RSRQ in accordance with the selected handover initiation parameters. In some of these embodiments, the handover initiation parameters may include an offset value, such as an A3offset value, and a time-to-trigger (TTT) that comprise an A3offset-TTT pair.

  • Patent number: 9491595
Abstract: In one implementation, information specifying a geographic area for a talkgroup may be received. In addition, information specifying that the talkgroup is a “warm” talkgroup may be received. In response to the receipt of the information specifying that the talkgroup is a “warm” talkgroup, a satellite constellation may be controlled to continuously light up a control channel in the geographic area for the talkgroup. A request to instantiate the talkgroup via the control channel may be received. In response thereto, the satellite constellation may be controlled to continuously light up a traffic channel in the geographic area for the talkgroup. Subsequently, the talkgroup may be determined to be inactive. In response thereto, the satellite constellation may be controlled to stop continuously lighting up the traffic channel in the geographic area while continuing to continuously light up the control channel in the geographic area.

  • Patent number: 9407316
Abstract: The present invention relates to the communication technology field, more specifically, to a scheme of bilateral antenna. A device for improving the stray isolation between the antennas in the bilateral antenna comprises a plurality of communication modules having an antenna and a power amplification module; at least one of the communication modules further comprises a tuning module. The power amplification module is connected to the antenna directly or through the tuning module. The stray isolation between the communication module and other communication module is improved by adjusting the communication modules comprising the tuning module. This invention increases the stray isolation between the communication modules in different frequency bands, specifically, when a long interval exits between working frequency bands. Consequently, the radiance performance of the bilateral antenna of the mobile termination is satisfied, and the capacity of resisting disturbance between the systems is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 9361370
Abstract: A method and system of performing high-throughput identifications of broadcast content is provided. A device can send a content identification query, which includes a sample of content being broadcast, to a server to request an identity of the content. The server will perform a computational identification of the content, return the result to the device, and store the result. For all subsequently received content identification queries requesting an identity of content being broadcast from the same source and in a time during which the content is still being broadcast from the source, the server will send the stored content identification in response to the subsequent queries. If a subsequent content identification query does not request the identity of content being broadcast from the same source or is not received during the time that the content is still being broadcast, the server will perform a computational identification of a content sample.
