  • Patent number: 10783679
Abstract: According to one implementation, a system for visualizing media content includes a computing platform including a hardware processor and a system memory, storing a content visualization software code. The hardware processor is configured to execute the content visualization software code to receive a media file, parse the media file to identify a primary content and metadata describing the primary content, and analyze the metadata to determine representative features of the primary content. The hardware processor further executes the content visualization software code to generate a circular visual representation of the primary content based on the metadata and the representative features, the circular visual representation having a non-linear correspondence to at least one of the representative features. The circular visual representation includes a central circle having a central radius, and multiple, at least semicircular segments, each having a respective radius greater than the central radius.

  • Patent number: 10755473
Abstract: When rendering a scene that includes a complex object made up of many individual primitives, rather than processing each primitive making up the object in turn, a bounding volume which surrounds the complex object is generated and the scene is then processed using the bounding volume in place of the actual primitives making up the complex object. If it is determined that the bounding volume representation of the object will be completely occluded in the scene (e.g. by a foreground object), then the individual primitives making up the complex object are not processed. This can save significantly on processing time and resources for the scene.

  • Patent number: 10726605
Abstract: Various embodiments enable low frequency calculation of derived uniform values. A compiler can identify one or more portions of a shader that calculate a derived value based on an input value. For example, this portion may include instructions that use constant values, or the results of prior functions that used constant values. The constant values may include hardcoded values provided by the program (e.g., immediates) and/or other constant values. This portion of the shader can be extracted by the compiler and compiled into a first program. The compiler can compile the remainder of the shader into a second program that receives the derived uniform values from the first program. By extracting the portion(s) of the program that calculates a derived value into a separate program, the derived uniform value or values can be calculated at a lower frequency than if they were calculated for each pixel.

  • Patent number: 10713857
Abstract: A system and method for providing positional error correction for particles of destructible objects in a three-dimensional volume in a virtual space includes electronic storage to store center-of-mass information of a set of objects, using a high-precision floating point format. Prior to runtime and/or interactive manipulation of the set of objects, a texture map is generated that includes positional information in a floating point format having less precision than the high-precision floating point format. A simulation uses this texture map to determine simulated center-of-mass information of the set of objects. This simulated center-of-mass information is compared with the previously stored center-of-mass information to determine which objects have positional errors, and which offsets are needed to correct the positional errors.

  • Patent number: 10699361
Abstract: A method and apparatus provides for enhanced processing of 3D graphics data such as image-based 3D graphics data. The image-based 3D graphics data may include data defining texture, bump, normals, displacement, etc for underlying objects. In one example, the method and apparatus compresses image-based 3D graphics data as one or more frames contained in one or more videos and decompresses the compressed 3D graphics data using video acceleration hardware provided by a GPU. In another example the method and apparatus may also selectively control caching of image-based 3D graphics data. Before so cached, the image-based 3D graphics data may be compressed as one or more frames contained in one or more videos using video acceleration hardware provided by the GPU to achieve efficient usage of cache space.
