  • Patent number: 11451909
Abstract: Implementations of the subject technology provide vented audio transducers such as vented speakers. A speaker assembly may define a first volume under a dome of the speaker and a second volume under a surround of the speaker. The first volume and the second volume may be separated by a speaker structure such as a voice coil. By venting the first volume to the second volume, the disclosed vented speakers can provide a flatter response at high frequencies and lower distortion relative to conventional speakers, by equalizing the pressure under the diaphragm during operation.

  • Patent number: 11438709
Abstract: An acoustic filter (100) comprises a filter housing (10) with an acoustic channel (11) and acoustic valve (20) in the channel. The acoustic valve (20) can be moved to along a trajectory (S) between positions (P1, P2). An actuator (30) is configured to actuate the acoustic valve (20) along the trajectory (S). The actuator (30) comprises one or more mechanical elements (31,32). The mechanical elements can move the acoustic valve (20) along at least an initial part of the trajectory. The actuator (30) comprises one or more magnetic elements (41, 42) with a magnetic field (M1,M2) configured to exert a magnetic force (Fm) on the acoustic valve (20). This may help to move the acoustic valve (20) to the second position (P2) along a final part of the trajectory and keep the acoustic valve (20) at the second position (P2). Accordingly the stroke of the valve can be enhanced.

  • Patent number: 11381905
Abstract: An Acoustic meta material (AMM) device for passive amplification of sound is described. The AMM amplifier device employs a deep sub-wavelength resonator design with high refraction index, which uses resonant amplification of the bass sound. An array of sub wavelength, single frequency channels are used, each resonating and amplifying at a different frequency in the bass frequency range. This is accomplished by having many different channels, each with an opening extending in a same, common, or substantially common direction. Thus, sound emanating from a speaker in a first direction continues in this direction until reaching and entering the openings of the plurality of channels. The sound from the speaker is in all transmitted frequencies of, for example, a musical recording or the like. However, only a specific frequency and/or harmonics thereof are substantially propagated through each channel.
