  • Patent number: 10495084
Abstract: Techniques are provided for protecting a twin screw positive displacement pump, that include a signal processor that receives signaling containing information about power, torque, speed, viscosity and specific gravity related to the operation of the twin screw positive displacement pump; and determines whether to enter an enhanced pump protection mode for the twin screw positive displacement pump based on a relationship between an actual corrected tune ratio and a tuned ratio set point (Tune Ratio SP). In operation, the signal processor determines if the actual corrected tune ratio is<=the actual corrected tune ratio set point (Tune Ratio SP), and if so, then enters the enhanced pump protection mode, else continues to use a basic pump protection mode, and also determines the actual corrected tune ratio based on a ratio of an actual corrected torque (TAcorr) divided by a tuned corrected torque (TTcorr) at a specific operating speed.

  • Patent number: 10481459
Abstract: Certain embodiments are directed to control methods, window controllers, and uninterruptible power supplies for determining tinting instructions for optically switchable windows to reduce power usage at a site during a reduced power event. In some cases, reduced power operations are initiated by a window controller upon receipt of a trigger signal from an uninterruptible power supply sent when it detects a power loss. In some cases, tinting instructions are based on the remaining charge left on the uninterruptible power supply. In some cases, reduced power operations are delayed for a period of time.

  • Patent number: 10401849
Abstract: The velocity and force of a target is controlled to have a predetermined relationship, independently of changes in the velocity at which the target is driven using a velocity command value and in an external force from the target. A controller controls a control target, driven to generate a predetermined viscous force as a reaction force, by periodically outputting a command value to the control target using a target value calculated from a command pattern for driving the control target and a feedback value from the control target relative to the target value. A correction operation unit obtains a control physical quantity different from the command value, calculates a correction command value based on a relationship between an error of the obtained control physical quantity from its target value and an error of the feedback value from the target value, and outputs the correction command value to the control target.
