Abstract: Disclosed are an actinic ray curable composition, an actinic ray curable ink, an image recording method, and an ink jet recording apparatus, the actinic ray curable composition containing a photo acid generator, and an oxetane compound I represented by the following formula 1, wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, and R6 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, an alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a fluoroalkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an allyl group, an aryl group, a furyl group or a thienyl group, and wherein the longer C—O bond distance of the two C—O bond distances in formula 1 is from 0.1464 to 0.1500 nm.
Abstract: A method of producing a polymer according to the present invention is characterized by comprising a step of photopolymerizing one or more photopolymerizable polymerization precursors by irradiation with an activation energy ray in a supercritical fluid or in a subcritical fluid.
Abstract: A photosensitive composition suitable for practical waveguide devices is provided. The photosensitive composition comprises at least one multifunctional acrylate prepared from a fluorinated multifunctional alcohol and at least one photoinitiator. The said composition has high photo contrast, high curing speed, controllable refractive index, low curing shrinkage, high thermo-optic coefficient, low volatility and high viscosity. A waveguide device is formed by patterning the photosensitive composition.

Abstract: The invention relates to novel photoinitiators and their use in light adjustable compositions. The initiatives comprise two or more multiphoton chromophores linked by a bridging compound. Abstract: An ink is disclosed for producing an ink jet print receptive surface on coated or coated polymer substrates such as CD-R substrates. The ink comprises a solid water soluble salt of acrylamidoalkanesulfonic acid, one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers or oligomers capable of being photopolymerized by ultra-violet radiation, one or more functional extender pigments, and one or more photoinitiators. A modified silicone may be added to the ink to control the spread of the ink-jet print and the print definition. The inks are hardened by exposure to ultra-violet light. The ink may be over-printed with thermal drop-on-demand ink-jet printers.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a light-degradable material for producing disposable medical appliances having main components of polypropylene resin and composite allochromatic agent, wherein the composite allochromatic agent is composed of photoinitiator and sensitizer. The photoinitiator contains ferric citrate (FeC6H5O7) and ferrous pentadione (FeC5H8O2), and the sensitizer contains hexachloroacetone (Cl6C3O) and acetylbenzene (C8H8O). The material of present invention is neither toxic nor polluted in producing or in using, and can rapidly change color while being irradiated by UV rays. Reuse of these medical appliances can be thereby avoided. When they are thrown away in nature, they will keep degrading and decay to powder within 45˜75 days. They are desired substitutes of present material for producing disposable medical appliances.

Abstract: The ink comprises a coloring component, a reactive oligomer and/or a reactive prepolymer, a reactive diluent and a photoinitiator, wherein the reactive oligomer and/or reactive prepolymer unit and the reactive diluent unit have a glass transition point of 0° to 70° C., respectively, in a polymer obtained therefrom. An ultraviolet ray curable ink composition having a viscosity of 60 to 800 cps at 25° C. which comprises a coloring component, a reactive diluent, a photoinitiator and an oligomer and/or reactive prepolymer having compatibility with the reactive diluent is used. The ink composition is heated to 40° to 150° C. and applied to a recording medium and cured by ultraviolet rays.

Abstract: An optical waveguide-forming material is comprised of a photocurable organopolysiloxane composition comprising an alkali-soluble organopolysiloxane and a photoacid generator, wherein the organopolysiloxane is obtained by (co)hydrolytic condensation of a triorganoxysilane having hydrolyzable epoxide and has an average molecular weight of 500–50,000 as determined by GPC using polystyrene standards. The optical waveguide-forming material, when subjected to pattern formation by photolithography, can be resolved with an alkaline aqueous solution, has a high sensitivity and resolution, and offers a cured film having improved light transmittance, heat resistance and humidity resistance.
