Abstract: A photopolymerization initiator composition is disclosed. The composition is comprised of 1,4 or 9,10 dimethoxyanthracene and 2-tri(chloro or bromo)methyl-4(1H)-quinazolinone. The initiator composition is useful in preparing photopolymerizable compositions having increased effective photospeed.
Abstract: Copolymers useful in particular for producing two-layer resists and fabricating semiconductor devices contain from 5 to 50 mol % of monomers having o-nitrocarbinol ester groups, from 95 to 50 mol % of an olefinically unsaturated silicon-containing organic compound, from 0 to 20 mol % of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid and from 0 to 25 mol % of other copolymerizable monomers.
Abstract: A compounding oil for polymers which can be used as a plasticizer, process oil, thinner, softening agent, extender or the like. The compounding oil of the invention comprises a fraction mainly containing triaryldialkanes and having boiling points in the range of 350.degree. to 450.degree. C., which fraction is prepared by disproportionating a by-product oil fraction at temperatures in the range of 20.degree. to 500.degree. C. in the presence of a disproportionation catalyst, said by-product oil fraction mainly containing diarylalkanes, having boiling points in the range of 260.degree. to 320.degree. C., and being obtained from the process to prepare alkylated monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by alkylating monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with olefins in the presence of an alkylation catalyst.
Abstract: This invention describes the use of some Mannich bases as photosensitizers for iodonium salts for use in the initiation of free radical polymerization of vinyl monomers. These Mannich bases are unexpectedly more efficient as photosensitizers than are the conventional photosensitizers.
