Abstract: The present invention relates to a medical formulation comprising: cinnamomum zeylanicum; Pinus pinaster; extract of a plant belonging to the Saccharum genus; Monascus purpureus; Taraxacum officinale; Camellia sinensis; vitamin B3; alpha tocopherol; coenzyme Q10; fish oil comprising eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexanoic acid; beta-glucan; and/or cholecalciferol. The invention also relates to the medical formulation as a medicament, and especially for treating hypercholesterolemia.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of tissue injury caused by irradiation which comprises silkworm hemolymph as an active ingredient. Particularly, when the silkworm hemolymph of the present invention was administered to an animal model with liver damage induced by irradiation, plasma AST and liver MDA were significantly decreased, indicating that the silkworm hemolymph of the invention can be effectively used as a composition for the prevention and treatment of disease caused by the exposure on radiation including tissue injury caused by irradiation, etc.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of producing a muscadine pomace extract. The method can include combining a bronze muscadine pomace extract with a purple muscadine pomace extract to produce a muscadine pomace extract, wherein the ratio of bronze muscadine pomace extract to purple muscadine pomace extract ranges from 0.1 to 10 (weight to weight), such as from 0.3 to 3 (weight to weight), and the muscadine pomace extract has a polyphenol content of at least 2%. The composition can include a muscadine (Vitis rotundifolia) pomace extract having a polyphenol content of at least 2% and other active ingredients.
