In response to receiving the help event, typical embodiments include retrieving a help resource associated with the device, and creating, in the device, a help message including the help resource. The help resource can be retrieved from data storage on the device, downloaded from a network location, or any other way of retrieving the help resource that will occur those of skill in the art. The help message is typically broadcast to a display apparatus for display to a user.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a method for generating documentation for a GUI usage scenario. There is also disclosed a method for assembling a GUI script from a plurality of pre-scripted parts. In an embodiment, shadow objects are created to listen to and report activities of each GUI object of interest during a GUI usage session. The shadow objects may listen to shadowed GUI object activities during playback of the GUI script, or during a live GUI usage session. GUI object activities reported by the shadow objects are identified and converted into narrative language statements, using a pre-determined conversion list, to create human-readable documentation.

    Abstract: A process is set forth for viewing an enlarged area of an image. The image is stored on a server and re-sized for viewing on a mobile communication device based on screen size and colour display capabilities of the device. The image is enlarged within the server by modifying binary raw data of the original image based on crop rectangle coordinates entered at the mobile communication device. The process allows users to quickly retrieve any relevant part of a large image attachment that has been resized by the server. This minimizes bandwidth usage, device memory/CPU consumption, and request/response latency while still allowing the user to view an image area in its original level of detail.

    Abstract: An operating system program allows dialogue boxes, defined without any explicit resizing parameters, to be resized appropriately to the types of controls contained within them. The approach is to “walk-through” the dimensional definitions for the controls, their sizes and positions, and the dimensions of the dialogue box itself. With this information, rows and columns are defined and identified as resizable. When the dialogue box dimensions are changed, the additional length is distributed among the resizable rows and columns. According to the method, only rows, only columns, both rows and columns, and neither rows nor columns are identified as resizable. The method involves making a set of specifications about the resizing behavior of the various types of controls. The operating system essays the resource file for the dialogue, or a memory image derived from it, to define columns and rows partitioning the various controls. One set of columns and rows corresponds to borders.

    Abstract: A computer system having a core logic chipset that functions as a bridge between an Accelerated Graphics Port ("AGP") bus device such as a graphics controller, and a host processor and computer system memory wherein a Graphics Address Remapping Table ("GART table") is used by the core logic chipset to remap virtual memory addresses used by the AGP graphics controller into physical memory addresses that reside in the computer system memory. The GART table enables the AGP graphics controller to work in contiguous virtual memory address space, but actually use non-contiguous blocks or pages of physical system memory to store textures, command lists and the like. Contiguous virtual memory address space must be allocated for the AGP device within the addressable memory space of the computer system, typically 4 gigabytes using 32 bit addressing.
