Abstract: A scanning jig is capable of acquiring spatial positional relationships between a patient's face and an abutment. The scanning jig is configured to identify the spatial position of an implant including the abutment placed in the patient's mouth, and includes a base to be connected to the implant, a scan target with a scan area scannable by a 3D scanner, and a connecting portion for connecting the base and the scan target. The connecting portion is connected at one end to the base in a predetermined direction and at the other end to the scan target in the predetermined direction, and has a predetermined length such that the scan target is positioned outside the mouth when the base is connected to the implant.

Abstract: A needle comprising a luer lock connection, an internal fluid delivery conduit, exit ports and an outer profile shaped to match a geometry created by a previous canal shaping instrument. In particular, described herein are methods of generating a plurality of potential treatment plan variations for the concurrent and interactive review of the treatment plan variations. Treatment settings may be determined based on initial tooth positions and may be arranged in a hierarchy of treatment settings. Each of the plurality of treatment plans may be generated based on a set of treatment settings from the hierarchy of treatment settings. Also described herein are orthodontic and/or dental treatment planning methods and apparatuses that present the plurality of treatment plans to the user to allow a user to select a treatment plan from a plurality of different treatment plans.

The cutting head includes: four blades protruding from an axis of the bit, each blade having a thickness and being positioned 90 degrees to each adjacent blade to form a cruciform-shaped cross-section. Each of the pair of blades are positioned 90 degrees apart, and the blades of each pair are offset laterally a distance about equal to one-half of the blade thickness. Each blade has a shaped periphery that includes: a first radiused periphery; and a second radiused periphery. The first radiused periphery is shaped to form a spherical frustum-shaped socket portion when rotated about the axis of the drill bit, and includes embedded diamond particles. The method comprises de-coronating the tooth to leave a tooth root, de-coring a coronal portion of the tooth root to leave a tooth ring, severing an apical root portion of the tooth root from the tooth ring and removing the apical root portion. The tooth ring provides a ring of natural material that reinforces the coronal part of the tooth socket in the gum and reduces or obviates alveolar resorption.
