  • Patent number: 11991773
Abstract: A communication apparatus includes a transition unit and a control unit. In a case where a wireless communication path to each of a first base station and a second base station is established, the transition unit transitions from an RRC_CONNECTED state to an RRC_INACTIVE state compliant with a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standard. In a case where the transition unit transitions to the RRC_INACTIVE state, the control unit performs control to selectively execute operating in a first mode for waiting for a notification signal from each of the first and second base stations or operating in a second mode for waiting for a notification signal from either the first base station or the second base station, based on a state of the communication apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11991772
Abstract: Systems and methods for extending connectivity with a cellular network are disclosed herein. A UE may monitor a serving cell of the UE and a neighbor cell of the UE to determine whether there is a network condition wherein the UE is to transition to an out-of-service (OOS) state if it were to fall to a Radio Resource Control (RRC) Idle state. The UE may react by, before expiration of an inactivity period corresponding to a transition to an RRC Idle mode, initiating signaling activity with a radio access network (RAN) node of the serving cell. In other embodiments, the UE may determine, based on a number of secondary devices connected to the UE, to initiate signaling with the RAN node of the serving cell before expiration of an inactivity period and according to whether a maximum number of extensions of an extension activity period has been reached.

  • Patent number: 11985573
Abstract: Methods and systems for reporting zero usage for immediate trigger types are discussed herein. According to an implementation a communication session is established between a user equipment (UE) and the 5G network to provide service/content requested by the UE. A session management function (SMF) may receives a message from the UE to report the usage of one or more data units granted to the UE. The message indicates that an event occurs during a zero-usage time period. The SMF determines whether the event triggers a charging condition. When the event triggers a charging condition that needs to be reported immediately, the SMF sends a charging data request to a charging function (CHF) to report the event, regardless the one or more data units have zero-usage.

  • Patent number: 11984161
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus related to spike current suppression in a memory array. In one approach, a memory device includes a memory array having a cross-point memory architecture. The memory array has access lines (e.g., word lines and/or bit lines) configured to access memory cells of the memory array. Each access line has left and right portions. Spike current suppression is implemented by charge screening structures. The charge screening structures are formed by laterally integrating insulating layers into selected interior regions of the left and/or right portions of the access line. The insulating layers vertically separate the access line into top and bottom conductive portions above and below the insulating layers. For memory cells located overlying or underlying the insulating layers, the resistance to each memory cell is increased because the cell is accessed using only the higher resistance path of the top or bottom conductive portion.
