Abstract: A polyfunctional cationic monomer produced by reacting a tertiary amine having a polymerizable vinyl group with a compound having two or more oxirane groups. The polyfunctional cationic monomer of the present invention shows a very high curing rate and a high reaction suitability as a radiation cure coating to be applied onto the surface of a molded article made of plastics, wood, metals, etc. or the surface of a sheet such as a paper, a film, a metal plate, a knitted web, etc.
Abstract: Disclosed are a lactone-modified polyvinyl alcohol and a process for the preparation thereof, a polymer composition, a permanently anti-electrostatic resin composition, a lactone-modified resin having hydroxyl groups, and a process for the preparation thereof. The lactone-modified polyvinyl alcohol can be used in wide fields owing to capability of freely adjusting a water solubility such as water-soluble, gradually water-soluble, low water-soluble, and water-insoluble by a degree modified by lactone compounds, and owing to possessing both properties in PVA and lactones.Furthermore, the lactone-modified polyvinyl alcohol has a property as plasticizers or softening agents, as a result, there can be provided a polymer composition having an excellent property by mixing with hydrophilic polymer or polar polymer.

Abstract: An ultra high molecular weight polymer emulsion is produced by emulsion polymerization of a vinyl monomer, wherein the oxygen concentration in the aqueous phase of the reaction system is maintained at a smaller percentage by weight than the percentage by weight of the dissolved oxygen concentration in a 0.5 wt % sodium bisulfite aqueous solution. An emulsifier and a redox polymerization initiator are used for the emulsion polymerization.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a paint composition which comprises a binder to impart film forming properties compounded with quasi transparent polyolefin filler particles having a particle size below 110 micrometers, said polyolefin being selected from the group consisting of a polyethylene, a polypropylene, copolymers of ethylene and propylene and mixtures thereoof, said polyolefin filler particles being present in an amount between 0.1% to 10% by weight of the composition. These paint compositions were found to possess low gloss and matte properties at visible and high reflectance in the thermal infra-red wavelengths.
