  • Patent number: 8029419
Abstract: A support mechanism includes a front unit and a rear unit, wherein two swing members are respectively and pivotably connected to the front unit and the rear unit. Two positioning members are respectively connected to the two swing members and the front wheel shaft and the rear wheel shaft of a bicycle are connected to the two positioning members, so that the bicycle can pivot together with the swing members. Multiple rollers respectively connected to the front unit and the rear unit and the front and rear wheels are rotatably in contact with the rollers. A connection unit is connected between the rollers on the front unit and the rear unit. • Patent number: 8025610
Abstract: A safety device for use with an elliptical exercise machine includes a holder frame, a movable member, a locking member, and an operating member. The holder frame is fixedly mounted in the elliptical exercise machine at a predetermined selected location. The movable member is movably mounted in the elliptical exercise machine. The locking member is movably mounted in the holder frame in order to selectively lock the movable member from moving. The operating member is operable to move the locking member. A user can lock the movable member of the elliptical exercise machine after each exercise. When the user uses the elliptical exercise machine again and steps on the pedals of the elliptical exercise machine before starting to exercise, the user will not accidentally fall from the elliptical exercise machine due to an unexpected displacement of the center of gravity.

  • Patent number: 8012067
Abstract: This invention relates to a whole body vibrator platform which is attachable to a treadmill. The treadmill belt provides the power to move the platform, translating the horizontal, linear, belt movement into vertical oscillations through one or more eccentrically mounted rollers which support the platform. • Patent number: 8007407
Abstract: A wheelchair-accessible treadmill with a safety system allowing wheelchair users to exercise without the risk off steering off-course, tipping over, or rolling backwards off the treadmill. The wheelchair is secured by straps or similar means to two or more linear bearings that move along the side of the treadmill on rods or in tracks. When securely fastened, these allow the wheelchair to move forward and backward on the treadmill belt. The treadmill belt may be wider than standard, the height may be lower than standard, and a ramp may be used for access. An optical sensor may be used to determine the forward and backward movement of the wheelchair user. Wheelchair specific programs may be available through the control panel.

  • Patent number: 8007412
Abstract: A method for doing an upper body spinning exercise whereby the operator rotates hand pedals attached to crank arms resulting in the spinning of a wheel for the purpose of exercising the upper body. This may be done in a class or group setting under the direction of an instructor and may be done to the accompaniment of music or verbal direction. The rotation of the wheel may be resisted by a friction or magnetic device and each crank arm engages the wheel independently of the other crank arm such that the operator can pedal with one hand while the other hand rests. The operator may also rotate each pedal at a different cadence than the other pedal. The operator may rotate the pedals such that the orientation of the crank arms is 180 degrees apart, 90 relative to each other or any angle of separation relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 7955225
Abstract: This pedal exerciser allows normal walking and running in place on pedals (16, 17) reciprocal back and forth by returning the pedal from varying strides to a forward step-down position in response to user's end of stride action of stepping down on the forward pedal and lifting the other foot at the rear. A return force is applied to a pedal only during its return stroke, avoiding the high force opposing user's stride of elastic return devices. This enables high return forces to return the pedals at high stride rates and long strides without high user stride effort, making possible pedal exercisers allowing normal, varying walk-run strides as on powered treadmills but without a motor drive. Mechanical and pneumatic versions are described, manual and motorized, providing cushioned step-down with automatic stride length, speed variation and stopping responding to user's foot force.

  • Patent number: 7955228
Abstract: A bicycle trainer provides variable resistance to pedaling and allows for a rider to simulate a real-world bicycle course. The trainer engages both the front tire and the back tire of the bicycle and adjusts each according to the rider's preferences during a training session. The front tire lifts up and down as the bicycle moves forward and backward on the trainer. The back tire is adjusted by incorporating magnets thereon in the form of magnetic elements on a sleeve or a clip that engages the back tire and/or the back tire rim. The magnets on the back tire may also be attached to the spokes. The trainer includes magnets as well, usually of opposite polarity, and adds resistance to pedaling when the magnetic fields of the magnets interact to resist back tire revolution.

  • Patent number: 7935027
Abstract: A method of improving mobility skills of a user on a stationary elliptical exercise device comprising two footpads, each footpad associated with a stationary exercise device, comprising a frame member having a transverse pivot axis. A first and a second foot tread member are operatively associated with a coupling member for pivotally coupling the front end of each foot tread member to the pivot axis at a predetermined distance from the pivot axis, so that each foot tread member front end travels in an arcuate path about the pivot axis. Each foot tread member moves independently of the other foot tread member. Each foot tread member rear end is operatively associated with a glide member for moveable coupling of the rear end of each foot tread member to a support surface. The glide members direct each foot tread member rear end along a reciprocating path of travel, as each foot tread member front end travels in an arcuate path.
