Abstract: Some examples of visualizing relationships in data sets can be implemented as a method by one or more computer systems. Dimension objects and multiple measure objects are displayed adjacent to a cause region and an effect region in a user interface. Each dimension object represents an input category associated with an input quantity that contributes to a total quantity in a data set. Each measure object represents an output category associated with an output quantity based on an input category. A dimension object and a measure object can be moved into the cause region and the effect region, respectively, in response to input. From the data set, an output quantity associated with the measure object is determined based on an input quantity associated with the dimension object from the total quantity in the data set. A result representing the output quantity is displayed in the measure object.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for diagnosing inadvertent activation of user interface settings on an electronic device. The electronic device receives a user input indicating that the user is having difficulty operating the electronic device. The device then determines whether a setting was changed on the device within a predetermined time period prior to receiving the user input. When a first setting was changed within the predetermined time period prior to receiving the user input, the device restores the changed setting to a prior setting.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a method for generating a mobile device's user interface is provided. The method may include: receiving, via the mobile device, input from a user of the mobile device, the input being related to a property for presenting dynamic context-dependent informational cues; determining a context; identifying a subset of a set of informational cues, the subset being associated with the context; and predominately presenting, via the mobile device, the identified subset to the user, the presentation being predominate as compared to any presentation of other informational cues in the set of informational cues, wherein the presentation accords with the received user input.

Abstract: In one example, a method includes outputting, by a computing device and for display, a graphical user interface including a plurality of text suggestion regions. The method further includes receiving, by the computing device, an indication of gesture input detected at a presence-sensitive input device, and selecting, based at least in part on the indication of the gesture input, a candidate character string from a plurality of candidate character strings. While some embodiments will be described herein with particular reference to that application, it will be appreciated that the invention is not limited to such a field of use, and is applicable in broader contexts.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products for facilitating searching, obtaining and displaying product choice recommendations using inputs, including continuum-based inputs, and variable-sized visual representations are disclosed. In an embodiment, a user is presented with at least one continuum-based selector and at least one product choice visual representation. At least one input indicating user interest value in a product attribute is received and compared with stored result values of product choices. A unique weighing value indicating the relevancy of the product choice is generated for each product based on the comparison performed. The user is then presented with at least one product choice visual representation which may be modified based on the unique weighing value of the product choice.

Abstract: A terminal controls an application attribute based on a motion. The terminal includes a motion measurement unit, an attribute mapping unit, an attribute control unit, and a controller. The motion measurement unit measures a motion of the terminal. The attribute mapping unit classifies motion directions of the terminal, classifies a motion degree, and maps an attribute type and a control strength of an application installed in the terminal in response to each motion direction and each motion degree. The attribute control unit activates an attribute control of the application based on a motion of the terminal. When the attribute control of the application is activated by the attribute control unit and the motion of the terminal is measured by the motion measurement unit, the controller controls an attribute of the application based on the attribute type and the control strength mapped by the attribute mapping unit.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of generating a graphic flow having an unlimited number of connections between shapes. The shapes are provided in a visual representation of a workspace defined by pixels. For instance, a first shape may have an outer perimeter defined by a first subset of the pixels; a second shape may have an outer boundary defined by a second subset of the pixels, and so on. Any pixel in each subset may serve as a connection point. For example, a first pixel of the first subset may serve as a first connection point based on any of a variety of first criteria, and a second pixel of the second subset may serve as a second connection point based on any of a variety of second criteria. In accordance with this example, a connection may be provided between the first and second connection points.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for utilizing drawing guides in determining the display of smart guides in a drawing program. The drawing program detects that an active drawing object is being manipulated on a drawing canvas. The drawing program determines if one or more drawing guides are visible on the drawing canvas. Upon determining that one or more drawing guides are visible on the drawing canvas, the drawing program treats the drawing guides as drawing objects in determining the display of smart guides on the drawing canvas and the snap-to positioning of the active drawing object.

Abstract: Methods for suggesting in search results an action that is to be performed in an external application based on a previous search query are provided. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, from an application on a device, a search query that was previously submitted by a user or another user, and providing, as a result of the search query, an interface to perform an action to launch an external application on the device, wherein the action was previously selected by the user or the other user in response to previous results of the search query. Systems, graphical user interfaces, and machine-readable media are also provided.
