  • Patent number: 11799707
Abstract: The guard-space reference disclosed herein is a signal transmitted in the guard spaces separating message data intervals, and configured to reveal amplitude noise or phase noise or both, using 5G or 6G technology. For example, the transmitter can transmit an I-branch with a predetermined amplitude level, and an orthogonal Q branch with zero amplitude, in the guard space. The receiver can measure the received amplitude and phase of the guard-space reference, subtract the initial amplitude and phase, and thereby measure both phase noise and amplitude noise. The receiver can then subtract the measured amplitude and phase effects from the message data, thereby negating both phase noise and amplitude noise. Guard-space references disclosed herein can preserve the inter-subcarrier orthogonality, inter-symbol separation, and signal circularity advantages of prior art, while additionally providing both amplitude noise and phase noise mitigation. Examples are suitable for wireless standards.

  • Patent number: 11765549
Abstract: A method for performing contact tracing. An analysis system performing the method receives geo-temporal data comprising location data points for various wireless terminals, including the wireless terminals being used by people diagnosed as having a specified disease and the wireless terminals of others, one of whom having possibly infected those diagnosed with the disease. Based on filtering the geo-temporal data, the analysis system generates relatively-condensed mobility profiles that are representative of each person's locations and movements, and analyzes the mobility profiles. Through careful selections of various parameters based on the disease that is being analyzed, the mobility profiles are used instead of the relatively large amounts of geo-temporal data, to represent users of wireless terminals and to determine their interactions in regard to disease transmission.

  • Patent number: 11765007
Abstract: A signal specification identification apparatus includes processing circuitry that estimates the transmission rate of a received signal, performs sampling frequency conversion on the received signal, calculates a probability corresponding to each of a plurality of candidates for a specification of the received signal, selects a candidate using the respective probabilities, and calculates reliability corresponding to a selected candidate, determines whether to output the selected candidate as an identification result or perform the sampling frequency conversion again, based on the reliability, and changes a parameter indicating the ratio of the sampling frequency conversion when it is determined that the sampling frequency conversion is to be performed again. Processing is repeated until the processing circuitry determines that the selected candidate as the identification result is to be output.

  • Patent number: 11757475
Abstract: A radio-frequency (RF) sampling transmitter (e.g., of the type that may be used in 5G wireless base stations) includes a complex baseband digital-to-analog converter (DAC) response compensator that operates on a complex baseband signal at a sampling rate lower than the sampling rate of an RF sampling DAC in the RF sampling transmitter. The DAC response compensator flattens the sample-and-hold response of the RF sampling DAC only in the passband of interest, addressing the problem of a sin c response introduced by the sample-and-hold operation of the RF sampling DAC and avoiding the architectural complexity and high power consumption of an inverse sin c filter that operates on the signal at a point in the signal chain after it has already been up-converted to an RF passband.
