  • Patent number: 11122614
Abstract: Systems and methods of wireless communication in which wireless devices are adapted to implement adaptive waveform selection are disclosed. For example, operation according to embodiments may provide for use of a waveform design that minimizes peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), such as single-carrier frequency division multiplexing (SC-FDM), as well as a waveform design that provides higher spectral efficiency, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), for scenarios that are not power-limited and the higher PAPR is acceptable. Adaptive waveform selection may be based implicitly on one or more parameters or may be based on explicit signaling. Adaptive waveform selection may be utilized with respect to initially establishing a communication link and/or with respect to an established communication link.

  • Patent number: 11115857
Abstract: Minimum guaranteed wireless network bandwidth is provided to client network devices by monitoring the performance of network connections to identify client network devices experiencing network congestion. Congested network connections are then analyzed to determine the source of the network congestion. Depending upon the source of the network congestion, an embodiment of the invention may undertake steps to either improve the quality of the network connection or to mitigate the impact of this network connection on other network connections. High quality network connections may be allocated additional bandwidth, airtime, or other resources to reduce the network congestion. Low quality network connections are not allocated additional bandwidth, airtime, or other resources. Instead, the impact of this network connection on the other network connections is mitigated.

  • Patent number: 11005605
Abstract: The efficiency of signal transmission is improved. A communication apparatus includes a memory unit, a communication control unit, and an updating unit. A retransmission interval value is stored in the memory unit. The communication control unit transmits a first signal and receives a response signal corresponding to the first signal from a receiver. If the received response signal is a negative response signal, the first signal is retransmitted at a time interval longer than or equal to the retransmission interval value stored in the memory unit, from the transmission of the first signal. The updating unit updates the retransmission interval value stored in the memory unit, according to a time from the transmission of the first signal to the reception of the positive response signal corresponding to the first signal.
