Abstract: A nasal insert includes a user interface with a housing having a circumferential wall defining an interior passage. A valve is in communication with the interior passage and limits a fluid flow through the interior passage in at least one direction. An exterior surface of the housing is adapted to interface with a nasal vestibule of a user and define an exhalation flow path. Methods of using and assembling the nasal inserts also are provided.
Abstract: A kinesiology tape bandage includes a piece of anisotropically stretchable woven fabric, a stretchable dressing attached to a first side of the fabric, and pressure-sensitive adhesive applied to at least some of an exposed area of the first side of the fabric. The kinesiology tape bandage is applied to a body by stretching the kinesiology tape bandage to at least 125% of its unstretched length, positioning a dressing of the bandage over a wound on the body, and pressing the stretched bandage against the body to activate a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the bandage and adhere the stretched bandage to the body.

Abstract: Described is a system including an air pressure supply arrangement, a sensor and a titration device. The air pressure supply arrangement provides air pressure to a patient's airways. The sensor detects input data corresponding to a patient's breathing patterns of a plurality of breaths. The titration device receives and analyzes the input data to determine existence of breathing disorder and corresponding characteristics. The titration device generates output data for adjusting the air pressure supplied to the patient as a function of an index of abnormal respiratory events included in the input data.

Abstract: The current invention relates to an adjustable mandibular advancement device with a unique combination of resilient hinging and adjustability to prevent or reduce snoring and/or obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. The adjustability is described by means of two concepts of adjustability for the relative enlargement or diminution of the members of the device, incremental and successive advancement mechanisms, in either combination or separately. By use of thermoplastic materials the device can be used in the outmost variability of the human dentition.
Abstract: A device and a method of using and assembling a device configured to treat a spine of a patient are provided. The method of assembling includes providing a support article configured to be connected to a torso of a patient, wherein the support article includes a front portion and a back portion, connecting a support member to the support article, and connecting an actuator mechanism to the support member, the actuator mechanism configured to extend in a generally superior direction relative to the support member to distract a spine of the patient relative to the torso.
Abstract: A leg wrap to exert pressure on the lower leg, comprising lower leg sized fabric extending generally vertically to provide left and right tightenable sections, at least one of the sections carrying at least two vertically spaced straps extending generally horizontally and sidewardly of the other section, at least two straps configured to be adjustably connected to that other section in progressively wrap-tightening relation, about the lower leg, the sections consisting at least in part of elastically stretchable porous material allowing air passage through that material to ventilate wrapped portions of the lower leg. Strap compression indicating markers are also provided.
Abstract: A neck collar with a first shaped condition adequate for application to the patient's neck, mold and conform to the patient's neck configuration, retain and recall that configuration following removal and reapplication to the patient. A second shaped condition for storage. The collar is achieved by a unique piece of conformable material that is sufficiently resilient to maintain the given shape. The main body is designed to provide support and recall the anatomic shape of a particular patient's cervical spine.
Abstract: Oral appliances adapted to for spacing the occlusal surfaces of the teeth of a user are disclosed. The oral appliances have an integral retention band interconnecting a first bite pad and a second bite pad. The first bite pad can include a first spacer and the second bite pad can include a second spacer that are configured to maintain the spacing of the occlusal surfaces of opposing teeth of a user during clenching or upon an impact to the jaw. Methods for the manufacture of composite oral appliances are also disclosed. The methods include forming a composite oral appliance over a model of a user's mouth.

Abstract: A simple surgical drape system of generally flat shape for male urology procedures that provides full isolation of top versus bottom surface by a sealing fenestration surrounding the meatus area. It is achieved by manually forming the flat drape to a tent-like shape around the penis with a fenestration aperture smaller than glans diameter, supported by and sealing to the glans tip, and then attaching a penile clamp to hold the drape. This allows a simplified safer antibacterial preparation and less chance of infection complications. The sealed design permits better management of urology liquids, and can use absorption pad on drape top side. The drape wrinkles act as a penile position stabilizer, reducing need for extended use of the one operator hand for penile support. Drape is removable with catheter in place.
Abstract: A bi-level pressure support system and method of treating disordered breathing that optimizes the pressure delivered to the patient during inspiration and expiration to treat the disordered breathing while minimizing the delivered pressure for patient comfort. The pressure generating system generates a flow of breathing gas at an inspiratory positive airway pressure (IPAP) during inspiration and at an expiratory positive airway pressure (EPAP) during expirations. A controller monitor at least one of the following conditions: (1) snoring, (2) apneas, (3) hypopneas, or (4) a big leak in the pressure support system and adjusts the IPAP and the EPAP based on the occurrence of any one of these conditions.

Abstract: A device for immobilizing a patient for a medical test or operation includes a molding element that is convertible from a flexible, elastic form to a rigid form by the application of a vacuum. The molding element is attached to the patient by an elastic layer while in the flexible, elastic form where it conforms to the contours of the patient's body. Then the molding element is converted to its rigid form thereby immobilizing the patient. Auxiliary devices can be attached to the immobilizing device and these devices, such as a pivot arm suspension can be used to fix the immobilized patient to an operating table.
