  • Patent number: 9538180
Abstract: During a process to derive an inter-view predicted motion vector candidate (IPMVC) for an Advanced Motion Vector Prediction (AMVP) candidate list, a video coder determines, based on a disparity vector of a current prediction unit (PU), a reference PU for the current PU. Furthermore, when a first reference picture of the reference PU has the same picture order count (POC) value as a target reference picture of the current PU, the video coder determines an IPMVC based on a first motion vector of the reference PU. Otherwise, when a second reference picture of the reference PU has the same POC value as the target reference picture of the current PU, the video coder determines the IPMVC based on a second motion vector of the reference PU.

  • Patent number: 9538179
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for processing occlusions in motion estimation are described. For processing an occlusion in a forward motion field of a second frame relative to a first frame the forward motion field of the second frame relative to the first frame is determined with a motion estimator. Then an area in the second frame that is occluded in the first frame is identified with an occlusion identifier. Finally, a motion corrector determines a corrected forward motion field by filling the forward motion field in the identified area in the second frame using motion vectors of a previous backward motion field of the second frame relative to a previous third frame.

  • Patent number: 9532057
Abstract: An apparatus for coding video data according to certain aspects includes a memory unit and a processor in communication with the memory unit. The memory unit stores video data. The video data may include a base layer comprising samples with a lower bit depth and an enhancement layer comprising samples with a higher bit depth. The processor predicts the values of samples in the enhancement layer based on the values of samples in the base layer. The prediction performed by the processor includes applying a preliminary mapping to the base layer samples to obtain preliminary predictions, and then applying adaptive adjustments to the preliminary predictions to obtain refined predictions. Parameters used for the adaptive adjustments may depend on the values and distribution of base layer samples. The processor may encode or decode the video data.

  • Patent number: 9521356
Abstract: A digital security surveillance system allows a user to store selected security surveillance feeds while the user is simultaneously watching or reviewing another feed. User control commands are accepted and sent through the system. The system parses the resulting digital stream and generates identifying information associated with at least one video segment of the digital stream. The video segments are stored on a storage device. When a security surveillance feed is requested for display, a corresponding stored digital stream is found and its video segments are extracted from the storage device and sent to a decoder that converts the digital stream into display output signals. The security surveillance feeds can be simultaneously sent to an external storage device such as a DVD recorder or VCR.

  • Patent number: 9508016
Abstract: A dynamic lane line detection system and method is disclosed herein. Four wide-angle lenses are respectively arranged at four sides of a vehicle and capture distorted images. A vehicular image integration unit transforms the distorted images into an ordinary planar image and presents the planar image on an image display device together with an image of lane lines as information of lane departure warning for the driver. The system undertakes moving obstacle detection, around view monitor, or parking assistant according to images captured by four wide-angle lenses and the gearshift signal, speed signal, turning angle signal received by a vehicular signal receiving device. The present invention uses the wide-angle lenses and the vehicular image integration unit to effectively integrate lane departure information with a panoramic image, whereby to decrease the economical burden of the vehicle buyer and reduce the volume of hardware.
