Abstract: A load-controlling interfacing device obtains and processes event data, for example, from a touch-screen user interface and/or other devices, and that processes rules based on the event data to control an electrical load, such as a light fixture. During operation, when the interfacing device obtains event data, the interfacing device selects a rule to process based on the event data from the touch-screen user interface. If the interfacing device determines that the rule's condition is satisfied, the interfacing device can process the rule's action description to perform a corresponding action for controlling power to the electrical load.

Abstract: A procedure and an installation for the control of home appliances that uses only the data that is necessary, avoiding saturation of the memories of the elements involved and/or the communications bandwidth. The procedure is simple and reliable so that it does not require the intervention of an expert user or a service person. The procedure includes the standardization of the data identifiers of each home appliance by identifying the identifier that contains a value for each data point and checking that the scale of each data point is equivalent to a predetermined scale. The installation includes a standardization system for such purpose.
Abstract: An electronic system that controls existing electrical devices, such as those typically found in buildings such as electrical outlets and single-pole single-throw switches, which can include a circuit board upon which is mounted a connector block, a controllable switch, an AC-to-DC power converter, electrically conductive jumpers, and a control circuit. The electronic system further provides a radio means for communicating with a system controller, which may be local or remote, which provides commands for controlling the electrical device. The electronic system is configured to compactly connect with the existing electrical device by way of the electrically conductive jumpers and to fit within the confines of a single gang electrical box.
Abstract: A switch for switching a function setting of an air conditioner and a memory that stores therein a setting value of the function setting are provided. The setting value stored in the memory is rewritable according to an instruction from a remote controller. The function setting of the air conditioner is defined by the setting value stored in the memory. Regarding functions set in the air conditioner, priority as to whether to give priority to setting with the switch or to validate setting with the remote controller is switched for each function according to setting from the remote controller.
Abstract: Described herein are improvements for identifying defects during automated item production. In one example, a method includes identifying a first defect in a first item. The first defect is associated with a stage of production of the first produced item. The method further includes retrieving first parametric data associated with the stage for the first item and identifying one or more defect indicators based on the first parametric data and second parametric data associated with the stage for one or more second items having defects associated with the stage. The method also includes monitoring subsequent parametric data associated with the stage to recognize the one or more defect indicators in the subsequent parametric data.
