    Abstract: The present disclosure discloses an apparatus and a method for forming a large-scale thin-walled ring shell by hot-press bending with internal gas pressure. The method comprises: welding a first head and a second head to the pipe; arranging a first electrode and a second electrode at the two ends of the pipe; charging compressed gas to the heated sealed pipe assembly; placing the sealed pipe assembly between the convex part of the first die and the concave part of the second die, controlling the temperatures of the first and second dies to perform press bending; increasing the gas pressure in the bent sealed pipe assembly, to attach the bent sealed pipe assembly to the die cavity profile; discharging the compressed gas, cutting the first head, second head and extra material to obtain a formed ring shell segment; welding formed ring shell segments to obtain a large-scale thin-walled ring shell.

In some embodiments, an instrument can convert a rotational input force (e.g., supplied by a powered driver tool) into movement of a first rod holder with respect to a second rod holder. Various mechanisms for converting this movement are disclosed, such as a worm drive mechanism and a conical gear mechanism, as are various types of rod holders, including orbiting rollers, lid-type rod holders, fixed and pivoting half-pipe rod holders, and full-pipe rod holders. In some embodiments, the instrument can also be used for cutting, for example by rotating a cutting wheel with respect to a cutting plate to cut a rod or other implant inserted through openings formed in the cutting wheel and the cutting plate.

    Abstract: When an opposite direction shift for obtaining a required equivalent roll crown and a same direction shift for wear dispersion are used in combination, a difference occurs in the roll gap at both edge portions in the width direction of a rolling target material. Therefore, the difference between a work-side screw down position and a drive-side screw down position is changed so that the roll gap difference between both the edge portions in the width direction of the rolling target material is made close to zero. As a result, the distance between the work roll shafts on a work side and a drive side is changed, so that the roll gap difference at both ends in the width direction of the rolling target material approaches zero. Therefore, the wear of the work rolls can be dispersed while maintaining the equivalent roll crown.

    Abstract: A single bending device for continuous three-dimensional bending has a rotating and feeding holder for holding a workpiece, a bending roller assembly having multiple rollers being different in radius, a pressing roller head for bending the workpiece. The bending roller assembly can be moved to allow one predetermined roller to abut against the workpiece. Then the workpiece can be bent by the pressing roller head pushing the workpiece along the predetermined roller. Thus, as long as a different one of the rollers corresponds in position to the workpiece, a bending portion having a different curvature can be formed on the workpiece. Moreover, by controlling the moving length of the pressing roller head along the workpiece, the arc length of each bending portion of the workpiece can be controlled accordingly. It is not necessary to replace the jigs and the dies repeatedly.
