  • Patent number: 9564847
Abstract: An ac synchronous electrical machine includes a stator and a multi-phase stator winding that defines a plurality of stator poles. The stator winding has two or more coil groups, each coil group including a plurality of coils for each phase that are received in winding slots in the stator. The stator winding is connected to a power source/sink. The coil groups are connected in series and each coil group is connected to a power source/sink by a respective switch (26a, 26b . . . ). This allows one or more of the coil groups to be selectively supplied with power from the associated power source/sink or selectively supply power to the associated power source/sink. The switches are operated by a controller. The coils in each coil group are arranged substantially symmetrically around the circumference of the stator to define selected poles of the electrical machine and to produce a constant and balanced rotating torque when any particular coil group or combination of coil groups is active.

  • Patent number: 9551379
Abstract: Structural design permits efficiency to increase, which allows for the levitation of power generation equipment in a power plant. Rotational gyroscopic levitation motion is achieved by spinning stabilization without physical bearings on a generator. The phenomena of magnetic levitation of a rotational moving part with a degree of vertical allowance permit the torque resistance to lessen allowing for the reduction in heat rate to kilowatt-hour ratio. The magnetic levitation is further enhance by containing the magnetic bearings in a cooled chamber.

  • Patent number: 9539906
Abstract: The earth's magnetic field has not been mined as a source of energy. With average field strength of 0.5×10?4 Tesla around the world it is easy to understand why. A disruptive technology is needed to mine the earth's magnetic field. Such a technology, graphene, is now at an early stage of development with excellent properties in the form of high conductivity, low resistivity, durable, light weight, low cost sheets. Multiple sheets of graphene provide a significant multiplier to earth's magnetic field yielding a feasible source of ecologically clean power. Graphene based EcoCharge units can be driven by electric motors putting graphene in motion to mine the earth's magnetic field. Estimates show that for a Solar Impulse 2 like electric plane, eight EcoCharge units weighing 64 lbs generate 60 kW RMS continuously replacing 3,000 lbs of photovoltaic cells generating 50 kW RMS during the day only.

  • Patent number: 9543798
Abstract: A rotor for an electric motor has an iron core and a winding wound about teeth of the rotor core. Slots are formed between the teeth to accommodate coils of the winding. The winding includes several layers of windings distributed in the radial direction of the rotor. Each winding layer has a plurality of coils with the coils of each winding layer being wound on the teeth in the circumferential direction of the rotor. The overall center of gravity of the winding layers is substantially positioned at the geometric center of the rotor. Thus the center of gravity of the entire winding is located substantially at the geometric center of the rotor, thereby preventing noise caused by unstable rotation due to the deviation between the center of gravity of the winding and the geometric center of the rotor.
