  • Patent number: 12233426
Abstract: Important variables which influence the efficiency of a hydrodynamic separation of dense materials using a hydrocyclone are the dynamic viscosity at the inflow of the hydrocyclone and the number of passes through the hydrocyclone. According to the invention, the method and the device allow a control of the viscosity in the hydrocyclone as well as the number of passes through the hydrocyclone when separating dense materials from a slurry in conjunction with an anaerobic fermentation of the constituents of the slurry which can be fermented. By fermenting the constituents of the slurry which can be fermented, the content of a fermentation reactor has a lower viscosity than the slurry being fed. The viscosity in the inflow of the hydrocyclone is set by means of a controlled return flow from a fermentation reactor, and the number of passes is set by a controlled return flow from the outflow of the hydrocyclone. The slurry is pumped into a return flow from the fermentation reactor.

  • Patent number: 12226783
Abstract: A system for processing scrap material that includes a variable-power electromagnetic drum separator wherein shredded scrap material is placed in free fall at a position proximate the electromagnetic drum separator. A first fraction of the scrap material is attracted to the electromagnetic drum separator and is carried under the rotational axis of the electromagnetic drum separator thereby separating the first fraction of material from a second fraction of the material which continues to free fall and wherein the first fraction is a low-copper ferrous material with the second fraction having a higher non-ferrous content than the first fraction. A magnetic drum separator may be positioned upstream of the variable-power electromagnetic drum separator and be used to separate non-ferrous materials. The variable-power electromagnetic drum separator may be adjusted so that the second fraction includes some ferrous material. A robotic picker may be used to remove undesirable materials from the second fraction.

  • Patent number: 12226802
Abstract: Static screening apparatuses that provide improved efficiency in the removal of undersized particles from oversized particles. In an embodiment, a static screening apparatus incorporates two or more (e.g., multiple) stacked screening modules allowing for adding additional screening capacity without significantly increasing space requirements for the multiple screening apparatuses. In some embodiments, a static screening apparatus utilizes specialized synthetic screening surfaces having an increased open area in relation to convention wire and wedge wire screens. The increased open area of such synthetic screen surfaces provides more efficient separation of oversized materials from undersized materials in sieve or static screen assemblies. In further embodiments, a stacked static screening apparatus may incorporate synthetic screening surfaces.

  • Patent number: 12208419
Abstract: A vibratory screening machine includes replaceable screen assemblies. Compression mechanisms are used to secure replaceable screen assemblies to the vibratory screening machine. Each compression mechanism applies a force to a replaceable screen assembly that includes both a horizontal component and a downward vertical component. Each replaceable screen assembly is typically substantially flat prior to installation on a vibratory screening machine. The force applied to a screen assembly by one or more compression mechanisms causes the screen assembly to be pushed into engagement with underlying concave support members such that the screen assembly itself assumes a concave shape with the center of the screen assembly being lower than the side edges. The vertical downward component of the force helps to secure the screen assembly to the screening machine.

  • Patent number: 12208420
Abstract: A cleaning and debris management system that separates debris from billet leaf bundles in a harvester. The system includes an elevator and one or more air sources. The elevator includes first and second sections that meet at transition points. The air sources include upward and lateral sources located at the transition points to blow air through the bundles as they move across the transition points from the first to the second section. The air blown by the air sources spreads out the bundles and separates the debris. The elevator can cause the bundles to become airborne at the transition points, and the air sources can blow air through the airborne bundles. The system can include a hood where an air source blows air into a base and out an outlet of the hood to blow some of the debris out of the outlet.
