  • Patent number: 4059191
Abstract: A tie rack suitable for supporting both conventional neck ties and pre-knotted neck ties. The rack is in the form of a right angle flange, with a first side of the flange fitted with means to mount to a vertical wall or door, so as to extend the second flange side in the horizontal plane. The said second horizontal flange side is formed with pairs of relatively narrow parallel slots extending from an external edge, each slot of a size for supporting a conventional neck tie looped over the finger between said slots of a pair with said pairs of slots each separated by a wide slot that extends further towards the vertical flange side from the horizontal flange edge for supporting a pre-knotted neck tie from the knot. A mirror is mounted on the inside face of the vertical flange.

  • Patent number: 4055917
Abstract: An inwardly swinging door is provided with a threshhold assembly that effectively seals against entry of driven water and air. The threshhold assembly includes a sloping subpan having an upstanding rear wall. An integral outer threshhold member and upper pan are connected to and above the subpan. The upper pan provides a primary seal at the front edge of the door bottom and defines a primary sill floor that cooperates with the flexible wiper blades carried by the door bottom to define secondary barriers. The inner side of the door bottom carries a final seal which bars entry of air that may be driven through drainage holes provided in the subpan and interconnecting the interior of the subpan with the interior of the upper pan.

  • Patent number: 4056196
Abstract: A supporting framework for shelves including crosspieces which are joined to uprights by locking means which include a locking bolt aligned in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the crosspiece, which bolt includes a head projecting beyond the end of the crosspiece with a contact surface which engages frictionally with a gripping surface on the interior surface of the wall of the upright. The bolt is mounted in a bearing mechanism located within the crosspiece wall so that the bolt can pivot between an unlocked and a locked position, the bolt carrying a collar to which an operating element projecting out through a window in the crosspiece wall is joined. The supporting framework is so designed that when the bolt is in the position the contact surface on the bolt head abuts the gripping surface on the interior surface of the wall of the upright.

  • Patent number: 4051953
Abstract: The invention is a self-storing pivotally extending support for articles of apparel, clotheslines or the like. A mounting plate includes a pair of spaced apart ears with a pivotal pin axis carried by the ears. An arm slides vertically between the mounting plate and pivot axis pin and has a hook on its thickened forward end and an abutment rear end including an offset slot. The arm is moved upwardly until the offset slot permits slight lateral movement relative to the mounting plate by receiving the axis pin. This enables the arm to be pivoted to the horizontal or operative position with the abutment rear abutting the mounting plate to prevent further downward movement of the hook. The forward end is heavier than the rear end to enable gravity to assist in maintaining the operative or horizontal position. A hitch pin fits through an aperture in the arm to lock it in the vertical or storage position.

  • Patent number: 4037898
Abstract: This invention provides a snap-in terminal for electrical connection between an external conductor and a conductive film deposited on a nonconductive substrate. The terminal is stamped from a flat sheet of resilient conductive material and comprises a center position having a forward extension to which the external conductor may be attached and a rearward extension curved downward for establishing electrical contact with the film on the substrate, and a plurality of legs extending outward from the center portion and bent about 90.degree. downward from the center portion, each leg having at its terminus a tab. The terminal is installed by inserting the legs into a slot in the substrate contiguous with the film. The tabs deflect to fit within the restricted space of the slot and then recover their original position as they emerge from the slot at the bottom of the substrate, thereby securing the terminal to the substrate.
