  • Patent number: 9644508
Abstract: A liquid filter having a housing with a removable cover and an exchangeable cylindrical insert enclosed by two end disks. The filter has a bypass valve and the upper end disk has a central valve seat interacting with a valve body. The housing has a central discharge duct, with a closure pin fixed in the duct which is axially adjustable between closed and open positions. The filter has a valve body carrier connected, with limited axial displaceability, to the pin. The carrier, on its free end, has the bypass valve body, and onto which the insert end disk is mountable. The carrier is preloaded with a force, acting in the closing direction of the valve via a housing spring. During mounting of the insert onto the carrier, a force acting in the closing direction of the closure pin can be exerted directly on the pin by the insert.

  • Patent number: 9625042
Abstract: A valve arrangement includes various improvements useable in the context of a fluid additive system, such as a water softener. For example, the valve assembly may include a seal assembly engaged by a reciprocating piston, in which the seal assembly includes a minimal number of parts, is easily assembled, and can be easily inserted in the bore of the valve body without jeopardizing the integrity of the seals. The valve assembly may further include a quick-disconnect system which allows a “control head” including a valve actuation system and electronic controls to be disconnected from the rest of the valve arrangement with only a partial rotation of the control head. The valve assembly may also include a venturi used for drawing regeneration fluid into the system, and an associated venturi cleaner system which allows a user to unclog the fluid-flow orifice of the venturi without any disassembly of parts of the valve arrangement.

  • Patent number: 9616388
Abstract: A water filtering system including an inlet, an outlet and a filter positioned between the inlet and the outlet, where feed water enters the inlet and passes through the filter, and filtered water exits the through the outlet. A measurement device is connected to at least one of the inlet and the outlet measures a concentration of Total Dissolved Solids in at least one of the inlet and the outlet. A bypass valve is connected between the inlet and the outlet, and moves between a closed position and an open position, where the filtered water moves from the outlet to the inlet. A controller communicates with the measurement device and the bypass valve and automatically moves the bypass valve to a position between the closed position and the open position based on the concentration of the Total Dissolved Solids in the filtered water measured by the measurement device.

  • Patent number: 9605688
Abstract: A liquid transfer device is disclosed that has a fluid pump enclosed within a rigid, space enclosing housing. The pump has a strainer with strainer openings that provide a fluid connection between the pump and the inside of the housing. The strainer is located at the lower end of the pump and the housing. There are also openings in the housing that provide a fluid connection between the inside of the housing and its outer surface. The maximum size of the openings in the housing is less than the minimum size of the strainer openings so that the strainer does not clog with debris. A discharge manifold provides a fluid connection between the pump and the outside the housing. In this way fluid is drawn in through the housing openings and then the strainer before being pumped out via the discharge manifold.
