  • Patent number: 9385458
Abstract: A mezzanine header connector includes a contact assembly having a pair of contact modules arranged back-to-back. The contact modules each have a dielectric holder holding a plurality of header contacts. The dielectric holder extends between a mating end and a mounting end and has an inner side and an outer side. The header contacts have mating segments exposed along the outer side at the mating end for termination to corresponding receptacle contacts of a mezzanine receptacle connector. The header contacts have terminating segments extending from the mounting end of the dielectric holder for termination to a circuit board. Each of the header contacts extend along a linear path between the corresponding mating segment and the corresponding terminating segment. The inner sides of the dielectric holders of the pair of contact modules abut against each other such that the header contacts face away from each other.

  • Patent number: 9350116
Abstract: A connector system includes a first connector body defining a channel between a longitudinally-oriented fixed wall and a longitudinally-oriented flexible beam. The flexible beam is located opposite and generally parallel to the fixed wall when in a relaxed state. A distal surface of the flexible beam defines a first protrusion having a first inclined surface. A second connector body defines a cavity configured to receive the first connector body. A mesial surface inside the cavity defines a second protrusion having a second inclined surface configured to engage the first inclined surface of the flexible beam when the connector bodies are mated. A member inserted into the channel causes the flexible beam to flex laterally and move the first inclined surface with respect to the second inclined surface sufficient to generate a longitudinal force between the first and second inclined surfaces and thus between the first and second connector bodies.

  • Patent number: 9325106
Abstract: A coupling member for a connector component that includes an inner sleeve configured to surround a shell and that sleeve is rotatable with respect to the shell in a tightening direction to mate with the mating component and a release direction opposite the tightening direction. The inner sleeve has an interface portion and an engagement member. A spring member is wrapped around the shell adjacent the inner sleeve. The spring member has a first tab end that engages the engagement member. When the inner sleeve is rotated with respect to the shell in the tightening direction, the inner sleeve pushes the first tab of the spring member, thereby loosening the spring member around the shell allowing the inner sleeve to rotate in the tightening direction to engage the mating connector component. The first tab end of the spring member prevents the inner sleeve from rotating in the release direction.

  • Patent number: 9263812
Abstract: A lock-arm regulating part, which carries out regulation so that a latch lock claw for carrying out specified movement so as to be engaged with or detached from a signal transmission medium inserted in an insulating housing does not carry out non-constant movement different from the specified movement, is provided. The lock-arm regulating part is disposed to be opposed to the lock arm member in two directions including an insertion/removal direction of the signal transmission medium and an insertion/removal orthogonal direction. Since this configuration is employed, when non-constant external force such as pulling force in a direction different from the original insertion/removal direction is applied to the signal transmission medium, part of the lock arm member is configured to abut the lock-arm regulating part and prevent non-constant movement of the latch lock claw.
