Abstract: An antimicrobial composition for topical use or for incorporation into a coating or structural composition comprises an antimicrobial silver compound, preferably silver chloride, deposited on a physiologically inert oxidic synthetic particulate support material. A preferred support material is titania containing one or more of the crystalline forms anatase, rutile, and brookite.
