    Abstract: Tamper-proofing and secure identity validation techniques in a transaction processing system and secure electronic payment techniques are disclosed. A tamper-proof transaction processing device is provided and comprises at least two different strength adhesives to secure parts of the device together and a housing comprising at least a first and second protective layer. An electronic component comprising a secure element chip storing unique information relating to the chip is located between the first and second protective layer in the housing. In another aspect, a transaction processing system includes a payment instrument that is configured to approve only negative value and/or zero value transaction requests. Another aspect provides an identity card checking system and method where the identity card is brought into proximity of a data processing device and identity information is displayed on the screen of the data processing device for the period of time while the card is in proximity.

It has an effective focal distance, in the plane perpendicular to the length axis, which varies in dependence on the angular position around the optical beam shaping arrangement. The effective focal distance is longer for light in a light output optical axis direction than for light output laterally to the sides of the light output optical axis. This means the beam shaping, e.g. collimation, is greater at the edges of the light output beam than in the middle, so there is light mixing within the output beam.

    Abstract: An oscillation maintenance circuit with comparator-based pulse generation is provided. By sampling an RF signal and controlling a pulse generation circuit to generate a pulse signal of the same frequency as the RF signal, a switch unit is controlled to be ON/OFF at a same frequency as the RF signal, achieving synchronization between change of the current injection and the RF signal. Thus, the oscillation frequency is not affected by current injection, ensuring the FSK communication performance. At the same time, two comparators are respectively compared with two reference voltage levels to obtain an output pulse signal, and the reference voltage levels can be adjusted according to practical requirements, so that the switch-on point of time and current injection time duration are adjustable, maximizing the efficiency of current injection, resulting in simple circuit structure, low power consumption, and increased communication distance of an HDX passive RFID transponder.
