Abstract: A method of performing an image forming operation using user information, the method including receiving domain information of a user and performing user authentication using the received domain information; receiving a request for the image forming operation after successfully performing the user authentication; querying a lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) server using the domain information used for the user authentication to acquire user information necessary for performing the image forming operation; and performing the image forming operation using the user information acquired by querying the LDAP server.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining an identity of an individual are provided. Audio may be received that includes a key phrase spoken by the individual, and the key phrase may include an identifier spoken by the individual. A key phrase voice print and key phrase text corresponding to the audio may be obtained. The key phrase text may include text corresponding to the identifier spoken by the individual. Voice prints may be retrieved based on the text corresponding to the identifier, and the voice prints may be provided to a voice biometric engine for comparison to the key phrase voice print. The individual may be authenticated based on a comparison of the key phrase voice print to the voice prints. The identifier may include a first name and a last name of the individual.

Abstract: Systems and methods for applying feature-space maximum likelihood linear regression (fMLLR) to correlated features are provided. A method for applying fMLLR to correlated features, comprises mapping the correlated features into an uncorrelated feature space, applying fMLLR in the uncorrelated feature space to obtain fMLLR transformed features, and mapping the fMLLR transformed features back to a correlated feature space.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus capable of realizing setting of an insert including an interleaf sheet and a chapter sheet, on an image forming apparatus, by an intuitive operation similar to an actual insertion operation. An operation terminal includes a touch screen display and a network communication section which communicates with an MFP, and is capable of performing an operation on the MFP concerning document printing, and setting an insert to a printed matter to be printed by the MFP. When a user's drag operation causes insertion of an insert image displayed on the touch screen display between adjacent preview images of pages of the printed matter displayed on the same, the insert image is set as an interleaf sheet, and when the operation causes superimposing of the insert image on a preview image, the insert image is set as a chapter sheet.

A region of the page containing the graphical object (801) is marked as output incompatible based on the graphical object (801) being output incompatible. A bounding box comprising the marked region is determined. A proportion of a number of the regions marked as output incompatible are determined to a total number of regions in the bounding box. A further region within the bounding box is marked as output incompatible to increase the determined proportion above a threshold. The graphical object in the marked region and the further marked region is converted into an output compatible graphical object if the determined proportion is above the threshold. The output compatible graphical object is rendered.

Abstract: A method for classifying a text fragment by applying one or more rule functions is provided. The method includes (i) obtaining a set of words from one or more sentences of the text fragment obtained from a multimedia content, (ii) mapping each word from the set of words with one or more category map tables to obtain a set of candidate vector, each candidate vector includes at least one category associated with each word, (iii) generating one or more category vectors based on the at least one category, (iv) applying rule functions on the one or more category vectors, (v) generating a candidate classification decision matrix based on the rule functions, and (vi) classifying the text fragment based on the candidate classification decision matrix. The candidate classification matrix includes results of each rule function applied on each of the category vector.

Abstract: Wind buffet noise in a microphone signal is detected using a per-frequency probability of speech estimate as well as short-term and long-term low-frequency energy. Using the probability of speech presence estimate, the buffet-no-speech condition can be accurately detected. But the probability of speech presence, by itself, is insufficient for distinguishing between the buffet-speech and either of the no-buffet conditions. It can be assumed that, if wind buffeting is occurring, it is occurring during both speech and non-speech segments to help distinguish between the other possible states. That is, the probability difference may be used as the criteria for entering the buffet-no-speech state, and then some other information (e.g., low frequency energy) may be used to determine when to transition to the buffet-speech state or one of the no-buffet states once the probability difference criteria is no longer met.
