Patent number: 8157302Abstract: An electric strike which provides vertical adjustability of the position of the strike relative to the latch bolt in the closure with modification to the doorframe on the dust box. A ramp element on the strike housing is slidably adjustable relative to the strike housing and is securable at the time of installation to align with the center of the latch bolt. The ramp element has a channel to allow entry and exit of a latch bolt having a dead latch. A keeper engages the dead latch and maintains it in a retracted position when the closure is locked and is released when the electric latch solenoid is energized. A travel limiting foot limits rotation of the keeper so that the latch bolt may transition from the keeper to the ramp element without interference.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2008Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Assignee: Hanchett Entry Systems, Inc.Inventors: Michael A. Patent number: 8151890Abstract: A modular tree production tree assembly reduces the weight during transfer of the tree components from a barge to a production rig. The tree assembly includes an upper tree module, a lower tree module, and a choke bridge module. The upper tree module has a tree head, the lower tree module has a guidance system and ties in the flow lines to the in-field infrastructure, and the choke bridge module has the choke and instrumentation bridge to link the three components together. Prior to delivery to the rig, the components of the modular tree assembly may be joined together and tested on shore. Upon arrival at the rig, the components are individually lifted from the barge onto the rig by a crane. After the tree components are on the rig, the modular tree is reassembled and then deployed to the sea floor via the draw works.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2008Date of Patent: April 10, 2012Assignee: Vetco Gray Inc.Inventors: David N. Patent number: 8141645Abstract: During an Extended Well Test or Early Floating Production at an offshore hydrocarbon production site, where oil and gas hydrocarbons are produced by a production vessel, applicant stores the natural gas as pressured gas in a storage tank and occasionally transfers the pressured gas to a shuttle vessel which carries the gas to a site where it is used, as by pumping it into a natural gas pipeline. The transfer of natural gas to the shuttle can be accomplished by pumping it through a conduit extending between the vessels to a second tank on the shuttle, or can be accomplished by moving a gas-filled tank on the production vessel to the shuttle.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2010Date of Patent: March 27, 2012Assignee: Single Buoy Moorings, Inc.Inventors: Leendert Poldervaart, Jim Wodehouse

Patent number: 8141882Abstract: A wheel seal is mainly provided with an annular internal sleeve oil seal. An annular concave inwards is formed at one side of the internal sleeve oil seal to contain one end of an annular outer annular member. A gap is kept between the internal sleeve oil seal and the outer annular member to contain an anti-friction ring and a second barrier. A labyrinth zone that is up and down is formed in the second barrier. Thus, the anti-friction ring is used to not only block foreign matters from entering the wheel seal through the gap and then being damaged, but also effectively transfer the strength from the inner annular member to the outer annular member at the time of installation for increasing the success rate of installation.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2009Date of Patent: March 27, 2012Assignee: Cho Sealing Technology LtdInventors: Shang-Huang Wang, Mark Bannister

Patent number: 8141644Abstract: A riser tensioner cylinder rod incorporates a thin, corrosion-resistant alloy tube over a pre-machined steel alloy rod. The tube is swedged at one end and expanded to the inner surface of a split die. A gradual tapered surface on a stretching die provides a smooth transition during a stretching process for the tube. A pressurizing vessel traps an outer lip of the pre-swedged tube. Pressurized fluid in the vessel simultaneously causes the tube to expand and force the rod into the tube inner diameter. At the completion of the process, the pressurizing vessel is removed. The stretched tube is parted off at both ends and the stretching die is removed from the rod to complete the assembly.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2005Date of Patent: March 27, 2012Assignee: Vetco Gray Inc.Inventor: Fife B. Patent number: 8127851Abstract: A system used to remove multiple isolation plugs from a wellbore. The system is efficient in fluidizing and circulating proppant located below an upper plug resting on top of proppant settled above a lower plug. The system uses a central port of the mill that is in communication with coiled tubing to fluidize and circulate the proppant around the perimeter of the upper plug. Once the proppant has been circulated from underneath the upper plug, the upper plug may mate and rotationally lock with a lower plug set within the wellbore. Upon locking, the system is able to rapidly mill out the upper plug and the lower plug until the lower plug is no longer set within the wellbore. The system provides for the rapid removal of multiple plugs positioned within a wellbore where an amount of proppant is present between the plugs.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2008Date of Patent: March 6, 2012Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventor: John Gordon Misselbrook
