Patent number: 7611144Abstract: A sheet guide device has: a delivery chain for holding and transporting a sheet; first and second piles for piling the sheets transported by the delivery chain; a sheet release mechanism for switching between a first state, where the sheet held by the delivery chain is delivered to the first pile, and a second state, where the sheet held by the delivery chain is passed above the first pile and transported downstream in a sheet transport direction; and a guide rail which, in the second state, stretches out to above the first pile by an air cylinder to guide the sheet being passed. A wire moving between a guide position, where the wire guides the sheet between the first and second piles, and a retreat position, where the wire has receded from the guide position, is included. In the second state, the wire has moved to the guide position.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2004Date of Patent: November 3, 2009Assignee: Komori CorporationInventor: Akehiro Kusaka

Patent number: 7374168Abstract: A sheet deposition system having multiple supports detachably suspended in multiple guide members, wherein a support can be placed in a sheet deposition location or the distance between supports can be altered by driving the guide members. Multiple sheet deposition locations may be provided. The system enables that supports can be easily removed, added or relocated either manually or in an automated manner.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2003Date of Patent: May 20, 2008Assignee: Oce-Technologies B.V.Inventors: Roger Johannes Maria Peeters, Nando Leerentveld

Patent number: 7370862Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and method for detecting double-feed of paper to prevent banking accidents or jam in a paper handling machine for handling paper, sheets of currency note are not separated by a sheet separating means and thus plural sheets are double fed. The apparatus includes paper feeding means for guiding upper and lower surfaces of the paper and feeding the paper, a pivot member pivotally installed to a rotary shaft, and having a contact portion disposed in a paper feeding path of the paper feeding means and contacting with one surface of the feeding paper, and an encoder portion with a plurality of slits, in which the rotary shaft is closer to the contact portion rather than the encoder portion, and a sensor for counting the number of slits of the encoder portion when the pivot member pivots. The present invention can accurately detect the overlay of the paper having a thin thickness with a simple construction.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2005Date of Patent: May 13, 2008Assignee: Nautilus Hyosung Inc.Inventors: Jin Hyuk Ahn, Dong Sik Lee

Patent number: 7207558Abstract: A conveying apparatus for transporting sheets to a sheet processing machine, in particular a printing press, has a suction belt table between a sheet in-feed and the sheet-processing machine. A transport belt of the suction belt table is formed with at least two rows of suction openings that exert a holding force on the sheet. Ventilation openings that reduce a frictional force of the suction belt on the feed table are provided below the transport belt in a region between the rows of suction openings.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2004Date of Patent: April 24, 2007Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AGInventor: Holger Edinger

Patent number: 7140605Abstract: It is one objective of the present invention to provide a sheet feeding apparatus that can steadily separate and feed individual sheets without causing an image detect, such as a transfer failure. The sheet feeding apparatus, for employing a sheet feeding portion to feed sheets stacked on elevatable sheet stacking means, includes an air blowing portion for blowing air against an end face of a sheet stack supported by the sheet stacking means, a sheet position detector for detecting that a top face of the sheet stack has reached a position whereat a sheet feeding operation by the sheet feeding portion is enabled, wherein, when the sheet position detector has detected that the top face of the sheet stack has reached the position for sheet feeding, or when the sheet feeding portion starts the sheet feeding operation, and when a sheet is not actually fed after a predetermined waiting time has elapsed, the air blowing portion starts an air blowing operation during a predetermined air blowing period.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2004Date of Patent: November 28, 2006Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takeshi Suga, Seiichiro Adachi, Hiroto Koga

Patent number: 7108258Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the delivery of flat objects to a friction/suction picking device with a suction head, the objects standing in a stack on a thin edge thereof on a support surface arranged on a stop surface and transported in the direction of the picking point using conveyor means. A sensor for measuring the vacuum in the suction head, is arranged on or in the suction head, which is connected to the drive controller on the conveyor means. Depending on the measured vacuum the conveyor means can be controlled such that the front object has an inclination as low as possible with the lowest possible stack pressure on the at least one friction picking device.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2004Date of Patent: September 19, 2006Assignee: Siemens AGInventors: Erich Groegor, Gerhard Obier, Holger Schererz

Patent number: 7108259Abstract: An apparatus to feed paper in an image forming device, which picks up papers with various thickness received in the feeding stand without a feeding error, and transfers the same to the developing unit. The apparatus includes, a feeding stand to receive a plurality of papers, and having a separating guide inclined at a predetermined angle with which the front end of the paper makes contact with; a main pickup roller that makes contact with the paper on the uppermost layer in the upper part of the feeding stand to pick up the paper towards the separating guide using frictional force generated via rotational contact with the paper; and an auxiliary pickup roller positioned between the main pickup roller and the separating guide to apply a predetermined pressure to the paper upon picking up of the paper by the main pickup roller.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2004Date of Patent: September 19, 2006Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventor: Deuk-hwan Chang

Patent number: 6964414Abstract: In a printing apparatus or copier, a vertical portion of a paper path is formed between two flat members. To remove jammed paper from the path, one of the flat members is moved, by a hinge, from the other, releasing any sheet in the path. Released sheets drop down the path and land on a bottom structure. The bottom structure causes a sheet landing thereon to incline away from the hinge, so that a user can remove the sheet without having to reach far into the path.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2003Date of Patent: November 15, 2005Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventor: Keith L.
