  • Patent number: 7952689
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for performing triggering and for determining a triggering moment. In the solution, a unipolar electrical pulse of a detector (106, 118) is converted between the detector (106, 118) and a first amplifier (108, 120) succeeding the detector into at least one bipolar electrical oscillation. The bipolar electrical oscillation is amplified with at least one amplifier (108, 120) and triggering is performed at a zero level between the extreme values of the bipolar electrical oscillation. In addition, a triggering moment is determined, at which the amplified bipolar electrical oscillation crosses the zero level between its extreme values.

  • Patent number: 7948613
Abstract: The invention relates to sensors of the speed of movement of a vehicle over the ground. The sensor comprises illumination means for illuminating the surface and at least one optical sensor able to detect the radiation returned by the surface. The illumination means and the optical sensor have one and the same optical axis, oblique in relation to the surface. • Patent number: 7948438
Abstract: In a system for determining the angle of arrival of a target signal received by an array of antenna elements, a receiver obtains observations of a received target signal from an array of antenna elements; and a computer processes the obtained observations of the target signal with estimates of a target signal for different angles of arrival of a target signal received by the array of antenna elements to determine that the angle of arrival of the target signal is an angle of arrival at which dissimilarity between the observations of target signal and the estimates of the target signal for the different angles of arrival is minimized.

  • Patent number: 7948435
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the location of a device from signals provided by a plurality of satellites. A device receives a first plurality of signals comprising one signal from each of a first plurality of satellites and determines a first location of the device as a function of the first plurality of signals. The device then determines a second location thereof as a function of a second plurality of signals if the first location is not within a predetermined threshold. The second plurality of signals is a first subset of the first plurality of signals.

  • Patent number: 7948433
Abstract: A correction calculation method for a satellite based positioning system with a network of receiving units as reference stations comprises a partitioning of the network into groups of reference stations, calculation of group-specific correction factors, amalgamation of the group-specific correction factors and subsequently, derivation of network-specific correction parameters. In this partitioning, the reference stations are represented by nodes in a connected, edge-weighted graph, in the generation of which an edge respectively connecting two nodes is only generated if it satisfies a distance-dependent connectivity condition, whereby the distance between the nodes connected by this edge is input into the weighting function of this edge. From the graph a minimum spanning tree is derived and subsequently partitioned for establishing the groups.

  • Patent number: 7948430
Abstract: A position estimating device (4) which estimates the position of an object by comparing a receiving pattern obtained from ID transmitters (2a, 2b, . . . ) and ID receivers (3a, 3b, . . . ) installed in an environment with a prestored receiving pattern. Position of an object equipped with no extra device can be estimated only with the ID transmitters and ID receivers installed in an environment even in an indoor multipath environment by utilizing a fact that a receiving pattern obtained from ID transmitters (2a, 2b, . . . ) and ID receivers (3a, 3b, . . . ) installed in an environment changes depending on the position of the object.
