  • Patent number: 10335887
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include systems and methods of using a plasma arc torch to cut holes and contours in workpieces having varying thickness and material properties. The systems and methods of the present invention allow for the cutting of holes and contours without the need for using secondary processing by using particular overburn, tail out and/or cutting parameters.

  • Patent number: 10327593
Abstract: A method of operating a grinder includes acts of: starting a first grinding cycle of a given duration; feeding the grinder with a given amount of material to be ground and grinding the material by rotating a rotary grinding member of the grinder for a period of active grinding; idly rotating the rotary grinding member for a period of idle rotation following the period of active grinding, for removing residual ground material from the grinder; estimating when the given amount of material has been ground, based on an operating parameter of the grinder; and adapting the given duration for a subsequent grinding cycle based on an estimated duration of the period of active grinding of the first grinding cycle.

  • Patent number: 10252373
Abstract: Described is a laser processing machine with a height-adjustable laser component, a height-adjustable machine component, and a weight compensation system. The weight compensation system has at least one roller unit that includes at least two rollers fastened on a common axle and rotatably fixed with respect to one another. The axle is configured to rotate freely and slide in a machine frame guide of the laser processing machine. The laser component is held suspended by a first traction member wound onto the first roller. The machine component is held suspended by a second traction member wound onto the second roller. The first traction member and the second traction member are wound in reverse (opposite) directions onto the rollers. A counterweight device acts on the axle by exerting a counterforce, which compensates, at least partially, for the forces exerted by the laser component and the machine component.
