  • Patent number: 9736922
Abstract: The deviation of an electron beam is measured in a drift tube of a linear accelerator, the wave to be decoupled having a frequency range that corresponds to a multiple of the basic frequency of the acceleration field. Coupling probes, a mixer-based receiving concept with high dynamics and sensitivity, a method for evaluating the measuring signals and a calibration method for calibrating out non-linearities are specified. Disruptive influences through the acceleration field are minimized by the measurement method according to the invention and the frequency range to be evaluated. The high evaluated frequencies also offer geometrically small coupling probes which one can introduce into a drift tube in which only the field of the electron beam to be evaluated exists.

  • Patent number: 9709692
Abstract: A logging tool for performing resistivity measurements on the sidewall of a borehole in an earth formation is provided with a circumferential series of evenly-spaced measurement electrodes providing complete circumferential coverage of resistivity measurements. In one embodiment, the measurement electrodes are carried on a conductive pad circumferentially surrounding an elongate mandrel or tubular. The conductive pad is held at a voltage adapted to focus measurement current into the sidewall of the borehole. Preferably, the pad has dimensions relative to the measurement electrodes and a standoff distance between the measurement electrodes and said borehole wall to effectively focus the measurement current into the borehole wall. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the measurement electrodes are spaced apart by a distance that is less than the width of each measurement electrode, thereby ensuring full circumferential resolution.

  • Patent number: 9696365
Abstract: An electric leak detector (108) for a vehicle includes a coupling capacitor (210) that has a terminal (A) connected to an on-vehicle high voltage device (110) and a terminal (B) connected to a repetitive signal output circuit (212). The coupling capacitor (210) repeatedly performs a charge operation and a discharge operation in response to a repetitive signal (PLS). Determination thresholds are calculated based on a voltage applied to the terminal (A) of the coupling capacitor (210) and an atmospheric temperature. A detected charge period and a detected discharge period are compared with the determination thresholds, to thereby determine a leakage state.
