  • Patent number: 7025340
Abstract: A fluid-filled vibration damping device includes: an elastic body connecting a first mounting member and a second mounting member; and a partition member assembled with the second mounting member to form on its opposite sides a pressure receiving chamber partially defined by the elastic body and an equilibrium chamber partially defined by a flexible layer, both being filled with non-compressible fluid. The partition member defines an orifice passage connecting the two chambers, and including a first partitioning wall portion partitioning the orifice passage from the pressure-receiving chamber, and a second partitioning wall portion of rubber partitioning the orifice passage from the equilibrium chamber. A partial reinforcing member is provided to the partition member extending across the first and second partitioning wall portions to reinforce an opening of the orifice passage to the pressure-receiving chamber.

  • Patent number: 7021727
Abstract: There is a case where first and second pressurizing units press different portions of friction members to a brake disc so as to press the friction members to the brake disc with predetermined pressing force, thereby generating braking force. When the brake noise is generated, a distribution ratio of the pressing force is changed by changing at least one of the pressing force generated by the first pressurizing unit and the pressing force generated by the second pressurizing unit. Accordingly, when the friction member contacts the brake disc, it is possible to change pressure distributions between first portions and second portions, whereby the brake noise is reduced or suppressed.

  • Patent number: 6997292
Abstract: A brake assembly for use on vehicles includes a rotor and a wheel mount, formed as a hat portion, fastened to the rotor with a bobbin assembly. The rotor has a flange formed as a series of spaced tabs, and the bobbin assembly is bolted to the hat portion with the rotor flange clamped therebetween. A spring clip can be used with the bobbin to accommodate thermal expansion of the rotor and eliminate rotor rattling. The bobbin has a binocular shape that receives a pair of bolts. A crush zone between the rotor and the bobbin yields to accommodate machining tolerances of the rotor and promote uniform torque transfer distribution to the hub. Torque is transferred from the brake rotor to the hat portion in a common plane to prevent twisting in the fastener connection.

  • Patent number: 6994407
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for controlling braking equipment of a motor vehicle. Here, an operating state of a motor vehicle is determined, in which the motor vehicle is to be brought from a state, in which its speed is not zero, into a state, in which the vehicle no longer moves. If such a transition from a traveling state into a state of standstill is determined, braking equipment of the motor vehicle is controlled such that braking forces are produced, which are capable of bringing the motor vehicle into the state of standstill and/or assisting a vehicle driver in doing this. It is also possible to produce braking forces in the state of standstill, which are capable of holding the motor vehicle in the state of standstill. The present invention additionally enables to assist a vehicle driver when starting a motor vehicle. In this case, an operating state of the motor vehicle is detected in which the motor vehicle is to be brought from a state of standstill into a traveling state.
