The polyester resin comprises lactic acids (D or L-lactic acids) or lactides (D or L-lactides) which are derivative compounds thereof, and dianhydrohexitols which are bio-derived sugar derivatives.

Abstract: Disclosed is a decolorable toner produced by aggregating dispersed fine particles of a color material containing at least a color-forming compound, a color-developing agent and a decoloring agent with dispersed fine particles containing at least a binder resin having a carboxyl group, then adding a compound having a carbodiimide group or an epoxy group reactive with the carboxyl group of the binder resin, and thereafter fusing the aggregate particles, respectively in an aqueous medium. The thus obtained decolorable toner can suppress the generation of fine powder by the release of erasable color material fine particles from the toner particles.

Abstract: A method for producing an antenna structure for an RFID device, a dry toner for use in producing an antenna for an RFID device and a RFID device comprising an antenna structure made of fused toner are disclosed. In a method for producing an antenna structure for an RFID device, a dry toner comprising a polymeric binder and metallic particles is provided. The toner comprises particles having a resistance allowing triboelectric charging or a resistance allowing inductive charging, wherein said metallic particles are nanoparticles having a mean particle size below approximately 500 nm in at least one direction. In the method, a continuous layer of the dry toner is applied to a substrate in a desired shape of an antenna via an electrophotographic printing process, and subsequently the toner is fused to the substrate by heating the toner above its glass transformation temperature.
Abstract: Methods, algorithms, processes, circuits, and/or structures for laser patterning suitable for customized RFID designs are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of laser patterning of an identification device can include the steps of: (i) depositing a patternable resist formulation on a substrate having configurable elements and/or materials thereon; (ii) irradiating the resist formulation with a laser tool sufficiently to change the solubility characteristics of the resist in a developer; and (iii) developing exposed areas of the resist using the developer. Embodiments of the present invention can advantageously provide a relatively low cost and high throughput approach for customized RFID devices.
