Abstract: The post-processing stability of silver halide photothermographic emulsions is enhanced by the presence of stabilizing amounts of certain structurally defined amido compounds.

Abstract: A silver halide photographic material is disclosed, comprising a support having thereon at least one of silver halide photographic emulsion layers and other hydrophilic colloidal layers, wherein said photographic emulsion layers or other hydrophilic colloidal layers contain a compound represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein at least one of A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom and the other represents a hydrogen atom, a sulfinic residual group, or ##STR2## wherein R.sub.0 represents an alkyl group, alkenyl group, aryl group, alkoxy group or aryloxy group, and l.sub.1 represents an integer 1 or 2; G represents ##STR3## wherein m.sub.1 represents an integer 1 or 2, sulfonyl group, sulfoxy group, ##STR4## wherein R.sub.
