Abstract: The loss of body/cranial hair is promoted and/or its growth is slowed/prevented by topically and/or systemically administering to an individual in need of such treatment respectively effective amounts at least one lipoxygenase inhibitor and at least one cyclooxygenase inhibitor, or alternatively, an effective amount of an active agent that is both a lipoxygenase inhibitor and a cyclooxygenase inhibitor.
Abstract: The aqueous hair and body treatment composition, containing 0.001 to 0.1 percent by weight hinokitol and 0.01 to 0.1 percent by weight heliotropin, has excellent germ inhibiting or germ killing action, is well tolerated physiologically and can be used alone or in combination with additional fragrant components.
Abstract: A cosmetic composition in the form of a compacted powder contains charges or pigments, or both, and hollow microspheres of a thermoplastic synthetic material having a specific mass ranging from 0.01 to 0.1 g/cm.sup.3 and having a size less than 30 .mu.m, the composition being free of acyl lysine.
Abstract: A dosage form is disclosed comprising a wall surrounding a compartment, which comprises a first composition comprising a carboxymethylcellulose and a second composition comprising a higher molecular weigh carboxymethylcellulose. The first composition comprises a dosage amount of drug that delivers from the dosage form at a controlled rate over time.

Abstract: A germicidal iodophor composition is disclosed having improved long term stability, by controlling the pH of the composition and supplementing the elemental iodine with a source of periodate. The present invention comprises an iodophor composition comprising periodate and having a pH of about 4.5 or below. Processes for making the iodophors, as well as methods for killing bacteria on a substrate using these germicidal iodophor compositions are also disclosed.
