  • Patent number: 9323367
Abstract: A method of modifying an annotation input on an interactive display in an interactive input system is described. Reference pixel values in a region of interest of a reference frame are determined. The region of interest is associated with the annotation. The reference pixel values are stored in memory. It is determined whether current pixel values in the region of interest of a current frame differ from the reference pixel values. The annotation is faded if the current pixel values in the region of interest differ from the reference pixel values. A computing device configured to implement the method and a computer-readable medium having stored thereon instruction to implement the method are also described.

  • Patent number: 9304623
Abstract: A combination touch and transducer input system is provided, which facilitates user input into an electronic system with a finger and/or a transducer (e.g., a stylus). The system includes a transducer configured to generate an electric field, and a sensor including an array of electrodes and a controller. The transducer is configured to transmit digital data, such as pen pressure data and switch status data, to the sensor. The sensor controller operates both in a touch sensing mode and in a transducer sensing mode. During the touch sensing mode, the controller determines a position of a proximate object (e.g., a finger) by capacitively sensing the object with the array of electrodes. During the transducer sensing mode, the controller determines a position of the transducer based on a signal received by the array of electrodes from the transducer, and also receives and decodes the digital data encoded in the received signal.

  • Patent number: 9269310
Abstract: Techniques for performing progressive updates on displays of respective electronic devices. The techniques may update a display in two or more steps for the purpose of first providing a quick response and thereafter providing a higher quality rendering of the update. For instance, when the techniques receive an indication that the device has received an instruction to perform an update on a particular portion of the display, the techniques may compare one or more aspects of the update to one or more predefined criteria. If the update satisfies the criteria, then the techniques may instruct a display controller to first perform the update in black and white and may set a timer for later instructing the display controller to perform the update in grayscale.
