  • Patent number: 7316406
Abstract: A wireless remote control radio-transmits a vehicle height adjusting signal tagged with a remote control identification code in order to improve vehicle height adjustment operability in a vehicle such as a truck. The remote control identification code is pre-registered in a receiver, which, upon receipt of the vehicle height adjusting signal tagged with the remote control identification code, takes in the vehicle height adjusting signal. According to information contained in the received vehicle height adjusting signal, an air suspension ECU controls the supply and discharge of compressed air for air springs to adjust the vehicle height. When an emergency operation switch is operated, the vehicle height adjusting signal from the wireless remote control is disabled, and vehicle height adjustment is preferentially made based on a switching signal from the emergency operation switch.

  • Patent number: 7287617
Abstract: A vehicle ignition interlock system includes a breath analyzer and a controller operably connected to the breath analyzer and to an ignition system of the vehicle. The breath analyzer detects breath alcohol level of a vehicle operator and prevents vehicle ignition if a breath alcohol level is greater than or equal to a threshold value. The controller requires the vehicle operator to periodically take breath analyzer “retests” after vehicle ignition in order to allow vehicle operation to continue. The breath analyzer includes first and second alcohol sensors. The second alcohol sensor is a backup for the first alcohol sensor and becomes operational if the first alcohol sensor malfunctions. The first or second alcohol sensors may be a mouth contamination sensor that distinguishes between mouth contaminants and alcohol contained within a deep lung breath sample. The system also includes sensors configured to detect impact (abuse) and vehicle motion.

  • Patent number: 7281599
Abstract: A passenger protection system includes acceleration sensors as well as a passenger protection ECU. At least one acceleration sensor is provided on one of the width-direction sides of the vehicle and at least one accelerator sensor is provided on the other width-direction side of the vehicle. Based on signals generated by the acceleration sensors the passenger protection ECU determines occurrence of a collision, and drives passenger protection apparatus accordingly. In the event of a collision, the passenger protection ECU performs an AND operation on a signal from the acceleration sensor on the colliding one of the width-direction sides of the vehicle, and a signal from the acceleration sensor on the other width-direction side not experiencing the collision, to drive the passenger protection apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7275615
Abstract: A walk-behind self-propelled apparatus having a mobile structure and a handle assembly coupled to the mobile structure. The handle assembly includes a pair of grip portions. A ground engaging traction member is rotatably coupled to the mobile structure and imparts traction movement to the mobile structure for movement on the ground. A power source outputs drive power and a drive system, coupled between the power source and the ground engaging traction member, selectively transmits the drive power to the ground engaging traction member. A speed control actuation system is then coupled to the drive system and includes a control member pivotable about an axis. The axis is generally parallel to a plane extending between the pair of grip portions of the handle assembly to permit an operator to operate the control member merely through thumb actuation without removing their hands from the pair of grip portions.
