  • Patent number: 11617857
Abstract: A catheter is disclosed that allows selective direction of a surgical tool into multiple blood vessels of a patient. The catheter includes a catheter body that has a main exit port and a side exit port. An internal balloon is provided within the catheter body. The internal balloon is inflatable, and can be located at or near a distal portion of the side exit port. When deflated, the internal balloon allows the surgical tool to advance past the side exit port and out the main exit port. When inflated, the internal balloon directs the surgical tool to advance out the side exit port instead of the main exit port.

  • Patent number: 11596748
Abstract: A hybrid blunt cannula with puncture needle assembly provides an outer cannula member comprising a needle channel, an eye, a stopper member disposed at the second end of the cannula member, and an inner needle disposed inside the needle channel and coupled to buttons. The buttons follow a translation path between a static position and an insertion position. The static position enables the free end of inner needle to be proximal to the second end of the outer cannula member, and within the needle channel. The insertion position enables the free end of the inner needle to be proximal to second end of the outer cannula member and partially outside of the outer needle's channel. The free end of inner needle is operable to penetrate the stopper member while in insertion position for discharge of a liquid through the eye.

  • Patent number: 11590321
Abstract: A steerable guide catheter includes a tip ring at a distal end and one or more pullwires configured to engage with the tip ring when put in tension, the pullwire(s) thereby subjecting the steerable guide catheter to a curving or turning force. The tip ring includes a saddle and one or more pullwire channels allowing the pullwire to be looped over the saddle such that when the pullwire is placed under tension, it abuts against the saddle of the tip ring. Some embodiments include additional catheters axially aligned within or outside of the steerable guide catheter, and include a keying feature aligning the rotation of the multiple catheters. The keys of the keying feature can be formed of a polyamide with a glass microsphere filler, and can be thermally welded to the catheter.

  • Patent number: 11565087
Abstract: Catheter assemblies may include introducer needles having a notch or similar structure that allows flashback blood to enter the annular space between a catheter tube and an introducer needle of an IV catheter. The presence of flashback blood in this annular space can provide a clinician with an early, visible indication that a needle has entered a vein. The notch, however, may create a leak path for blood to escape outside of the catheter assembly, unless contained. Disclosed herein is a notch containment that prevents the notch from providing a leak path for blood to escape outside of the catheter during or after needle withdrawal.

  • Patent number: 11471604
Abstract: The present invention relates to a filtering syringe, and more particularly, to an apparatus obtained by improving a syringe provided with a filter means for filtering foreign substances such as glass fragments of an ampoule, so as to prevent an injection needle or an injection flow passage from being contaminated with the foreign substances while allowing a liquid medicine to be smoothly sucked with a smaller force. The filtering syringe is configured such that the injection needle or the injection flow passage is isolated from the suction flow passage which is upstream of the filter means and in which the foreign substances may remain together with the liquid medicine, thereby allowing the liquid medicine to be sucked with a force less than that required for a conventional syringe and thus maximizing user's convenience and marketability of the syringe.
