Abstract: A system and a method for allocating indivisible resources to agents over a finite horizon in a manner that balances resource utilization and fairness are provided. The method includes: receiving first information that relates to a number of agents included in a set of agents; receiving second information that relates to whether each respective agent is requesting an allocation of an indivisible resource during a particular allocation round; assigning, to each respective agent, a respective weight that relates to an importance of the respective agent; calculating, for each respective agent, a respective agent-specific allocation probability; and determining an allocation of the indivisible resource for the particular allocation round based on the agent-specific allocation probabilities. The determination of the allocation may be adjusted based on a budget that indicates an availability of the resource during the particular allocation round.

  • Patent number: 12693918
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for synchronizing data in a source system to an application without relying on middleware. An embodiment operates by performing an initial load of records for an object for an application from a source system, thereby retrieving a first set of records. The embodiment first maps the first set of records to the object using a transform template. The embodiment creates the object in the application using the first set of records based on the first mapping. The embodiment performs a delta load of records for the object from the source system, thereby retrieving a second set of records. The embodiment second maps the second set of records to the object using the transform template. The embodiment then updates the object using the second set of records based on the second mapping.

  • Patent number: 12670008
Abstract: A system for facilitating workload portability is provided. The system includes a target server instantiated at a target platform and configured to store, at the target platform, one or more snapshots of a workload executing at a source platform. The snapshots are captured at each defined time-interval and correspond to an incremental change in the workload in raw state. The stored snapshots include boot files and data files. The target server updates, based on a trigger pertaining to workload portability of the workload, the boot files and the data files with configuration supported by the target platform. The target server executes the updated boot files and data files at the target platform. The execution of the workload at the target platform is identical to the execution thereof at the source platform.

  • Patent number: 12608239
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for controlling load on a server hosting block storage volumes by dynamically controlling latency for input/output (I/O) operations to the block storage volumes. The system can selectively inject synthetic latency into the I/O operations according to how the server is loaded, thus enabling control of server load. For example, when the server is overloaded, additional synthetic latency can be injected into I/O operations to counteract overloading. This synthetic latency can then be removed when the server is no longer overloaded. Modifications of synthetic latency can be targeted to individual clients, individual types of I/O operations, or both, facilitating targeted performance shaping for servers hosting block storage volumes.

  • Patent number: 12554616
Abstract: Computerized methods of classifying compute-intensive and memory-intensive applications are disclosed. A maximum efficiency for a user application is identified. A peak performance for a machine implementation is identified under one or more Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. Actual performance and resource usage of the application implementation using one or more performance vectors is measured and compared with the maximum efficiency and the peak performance. One or more areas of interest are identified using the performance vectors. If a critical hotspot area is identified from the one or more areas of interest, at least one feature is extracted from the critical hotspot area. An application signature is built if an approximation of performance is acceptable, based on the extracted features. The compute- and memory-intensive application may be classified based on the application signature.
