  • Patent number: 10293135
Abstract: Systems and methods for treating a lung of a lung of a patient. One embodiment of a method comprises positioning a leadless marker in the lung of the patient relative to the target, and collecting position data of the marker. This method further comprises determining the location of the marker in an external reference frame outside the patient based on the collected position data, and providing an objective output in the external reference frame that is responsive to movement of the marker. The objective output is provided at a frequency (i.e., periodicity) that results in a clinically acceptable tracking error. In addition, the objective output can also be provided at least substantially contemporaneously with collecting the position data used to determine the location of the marker.

  • Patent number: 10285580
Abstract: A video endoscope comprises a shaft comprising a rigid, proximal-side section and a distal section that is laterally deflectable in a plane from the central longitudinal axis of the shaft. A housing is arranged at the proximal end of the shaft. A control element for controlling the deflection of the shaft is provided at the housing. A rod-like pull element extends in the shaft in an off-center fashion with respect to the central longitudinal axis. The pull element is coupled with the control element and with a distal end of the deflectable section of the shaft, wherein a movement of the pull element by the control element in the proximal direction effects a lateral deflection of the deflectable section. A push tube is provided that is arranged to encase the exterior side of the pull element. The push tube extends from the proximal connection of the pull element with the control element through the first opening into the shaft.

  • Patent number: 10265046
Abstract: An apparatus, system and methods that comprise adding a removable or detachable carrier containing a camera and illumination to a TEE probe, thereby allowing the user to view the placement of the probe and minimize or reduce the risk of esophageal and pharyngeal complications during the positioning of the TEE probe into the patient's esophagus. The reduction or minimization of complications occurs by allowing the cardiologist direct visualization of pharyngeal and esophageal structures during intubation. This device and procedure eliminate any “blind procedure”, whereby direct visualization of the pharyngeal structures and esophagus present a possible solution to these mechanical complications. Once the TEE probe has been properly positioned in the esophagus, the carrier is removed from the esophagus. The removable or detachable camera of the present disclosure can be used in other industries.
